Wait, there's an "Uncut" version?! Does that mean more nudity? If so im there!
Nope it's just got a tiny bit more violence which was cut out of the 12-rated version.

Oh cool. No need to double dip then!

The fact this uncut edition is a 15 is a JOKE. The only extra material is:
- The sound effect of Powell's knife opening in Venice
- The sound effect of Powell's knife opening in the climax
- A close-up of the knife lying on the floor after Powell flexes his shoulder in the final fight
- A close-up of him spinning the knife in his hand before Lara punches him
- Lara's heavy headbutt to Powell before she strikes him in the throat
Granted, the 12 version (especially the cinema version, which was cut differently to the VHS and DVD releases) is terrible - the knife makes no sound, the fight scene is choppy - but to grant this a 15 for a few metallic "chings" and a headbutt is insane.
Sometimes our censors are far too up their own. I never heard of any country anywhere in the world that got this uncut back in 2001 collapsing into disarray before of some knife footage.

If this is the same c**p MPEG-2 transfer that the US disc had, then THAT is a joke.
Thought this film was really poor. Liked the sequel though!
Soft spot for the sequel myself. I think that it has some interesting casting choices.
We americans are still waiting for the sequel to hit on Blu-Ray.
If you really, really want it, the German import might be an option.
I still want an un-rated cut where she does the whole film naked....
