Quote: After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.
With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow. Cortez' path: straight through Summerton Junction, where the whole of the U.S. law enforcement, including Agent John Bannister (Whitaker) will have their final opportunity to intercept him before the violent fugitive slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately rallies his team and takes the matter into his own hands, setting the stage for a classic showdown.

It was a fun movie and for once the ending was a bit of a shock because I didn't think it would end the way it did .Yes there alot of CGI blood and effects but it was a fun popcorn ride .Now would I buy it not really because there not enough extras for me to spend the money on it .But for those who have not seen it rent it for sure .You'll be glade y did .
The movie was OK, but the movie directed before this one by Kim Ji-Woon is so much better.
I agree that this film was also a lot fun, but I wouldn't buy it for more than $10.

i am surprised they didnt make a "arnold is back" sorta featurette. i realize he already cameo-ed in the expendable movies but this was his first starring role in 10yrs...so you'd think there'd be something special for that.

Good silly fun for the most part. Shame the extras look lacking.
Terrible film. Lionsgate has been on a roll this year... two really bad movies within two weeks of one another.
the only reason i'd watch this is because i love Jaimie Alexander. i heard it was just a so-so movie though.
