Missed 'Leatherheads' in theaters. Instead I went to see 'The ruins' and I'm still glad I did but since I haven't seen this I can't compare the two. The artwork isn't the best but I've seen artwork a lot worse. The extras sound like the same old, same old been there done that extras.

Not a Clooney fan at all so I probably won't see this.
Awful film, awful artwork.
I'll give it a rent, but nothing more.
Dont you just love how Zellweger is nowhere to be found on the cover?
the cover is 'blah', i really dont care too much for it.
So selling the film as a football movie in USA and a romantic flick overseas. This film bombed big time in the box office. I have no interest in ever seeing it.
I knew it...the R2 release gets a better cover.
I am very curious to see this film because it seemed like an old-fashioned good time. George Clooney is a very good filmmaker and even if this is a lesser work I'm sure it could be worse. Will either rent or buy when it's very cheap, the artwork isn't bad and there seems to be a decent collection of extras.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL You are so right. They can put famous actors/actresses on the cover but yet leave them out. Just let me get another good laugh. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
:] :]
:] :]
The cover is basically the poster...what's wrong with it?
This film tried to balance between a sports movie and a screwball comedy, and IMO, really missed the mark on both fronts.
I think the cover is funny, but again, it will have people pulling it off shelves thinking it is a sports movie just to be upset when they find out that's not exactly what they're getting.

I actually really, really liked this movie. It reminded me of those classic Howard Hawks movies of the 40's like His Girl Friday. I think that's why it bombed because it's just way too old-fashioned for its own good.
But I love s**t like this. Call me crazy. It's so throwback.

Great film, really good poster - but bad artwork for the DVD. Shouldn't they have had one of the ones that actually SHOW Renee Zellweger on it??
I think that's her in the lower left hand corner.

"Clooney and Zellweger are comic gold" - really? That guy must have been on the wacky weed...

"Clooney & Zellweger are comic gold"...., after a well drunken bottle of scotch, maybe. Welcome to the shortbus Steincross. He sits with Peter Hammond of Maxim as the 2 biggest Doo Bags in recent film critic history.
Neat that they got Chubby from the Little Rascals to pose for the cover!
Awful film, VERY boring and cloony has smug written all over him. Skip at all costs, this is nothing u need to see and anything like it is prolly better
Funny Cover - but probably won't be seeing this though
Street date confirmed as the 23rd September
I think jckbateman and Commando are comic gold, myself.
I'm a big Clooney fan, but I couldn't finish watching this one. It wasn't horrible, just couldn't keep my attention. Unlike most actors, Clooney really only chooses movies which he feels are quality, hence why I like so many of his films (Out of Sight, Three Kings, Syriana, Ocean's Eleven, Michael Clayton). EVen his so-so ones tend to be better than most (Perfect Storm, Solaris, Oh, Brother Where Art Thou).
I do find it somewhat ironic that people will call Clooney smug, but rave about someone like Johnny Depp. Yes, he's a very good actor, but he's not exactly what I would consider down to earth and overly friendly.

The cover looked as expected - the same. Ehh' I wouldn't even go crazy over this. I'm still waiting for Horton.
They're already selling this new at Asda for £7.
I was interested in seeing the film but now having seen it, even at that low price, I felt I wanted my money back. A total misfire.
Beautifully photographed but not funny enough or romantic enough to match the film as sold by the trailer. The story isn't compelling in the slightest, sort of Bull Durham mixed with Hudsucker Proxy. Those films were at least 87% funnier than this. This film promised comedy on the field and it's just a trawl. Both me and the wife struggled to get through to the end of this one. She was hoping for a romantic comedy and I was hoping for well, a comedy.
What Leatherheads ended up being, I've really no idea. Any Given Sunday is funnier than this.
Vexed Clooney fan.
