Probably more like next year, but it's been rumored and TBD'd since at least last year (though I'm almost positive I first heard it's name bandied about back in 2007)....I thought for sure it'd be announced and released when Casablanca finally streeted, but nope. Couldn't be so lucky....

Isn't the Maltese Falcon due out this year?

About time for this? Ahhh lets now talk about "Lawrence of Arabia" which was announced since the dawn of Blu-ray in Sony's Blu-ray trailer ads, and STILL it hasn't made an appearance up till this point. That's literally almost 4 years since Sony has been tempting us. Grr
I feel your pain, even though I'm not a fan of that particular classic. My personal "classic" tastes tend to reside solely in both Kurosawa and film noir territories - (where's my Stray Dog and Maltese Falcon blu-rays!!) - but I still respect it for what it is and what it means in the pantheon of cinematic history...4 long years has got to be frustrating as all hell!....

Never actually seen this. Will blind rent.
Natalie Portman's finest performance ever. On the contrary side, fantastic film too.
Funny, I've only heard good things about foreign transfers of the film so far.
Looking forward to a better transfer (I hope) and all versions (like it says on the initial art work). I will also wait for reviews.

Yes but this is the BD. The Korean and German DVDs have both cuts.
@ Cris: Agreed, 50/50.

Arent there like umpteen versions on dvd already? I saw this and actually liked it, but i dont know if i'll buy it. It's good but i cant see coming back to it very often. I do like having both cuts on one disc though. Did any of the dvds have that?
We'd say that they'll use the same substandard transfer...
The Wilson Bros

What are the odds that this will look different from the other BDs. 50/50 I reckon.
