Even though this was a remake of Let the Right One In, it was still one of the best remakes I've ever seen. Can't wait for the dvd!

Yes! This finally got announced. I love this movie!
I love that cover!
Yes, totally agreed, it was the most decent remake since THE RING, and the cover art just awesome indeed!
Overture release always take care of DVD users, sweet! :D

Very good movie. Will be buying.
great cover art. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is one of THE best, most perfect (IMO) movies i've ever seen and i didn't go see this in theaters (most people didn't considering it bombed) but i will rent this. i DO love Chloe (can't wait to see her again as Hit Girl in KICK ASS!!) and i have heard from the 8 people who saw it that this was a worthy remake. the deleted scene (showing how Abby became a vampire from that gross, scary old man) was genuinely scary and heartbreaking. amazing performance by Chloe in that scene.
--------
edit: the deleted scene is on most horror movie websites. just sayin'.

No there is no mention in this version of her being a boy. Still this is an amazing movie and a worthy remake of LTROI so you should defintly see it when it comes out.

I agree. It was better in my opinion. Much more suspenseful.

Never saw original but saw this and liked it a lot. Sad it didnt do well in theatres. I dont know the replay value but its a worthy rental. Its really more of an emotional movie than a horror film and that is a good thing sometimes
I wanted to see this but never got the chance to. I saw Case 39 the same weekend because that's what my family wanted to see. I don't really regret it as it was a decent film but I would have preferred to see this movie. I will definitely Netflix this sucker.
Definite purchase. Best film of the year thus far.
I absolutely DISLIKE (don't hate) the cover. Wish it could of been this one:

This is one of the year's best films. As someone said earlier, it's sad more people didn't see it.
One thing tho, it mentions stephen kings quote, guys he ALSO put takers on his top 10 list. Yes takers the movie with one of the worst casts ever put on celluloid. I'm just saying..... But yeh like my previous comment i still liked this, i just couldnt avoid letting yall know what King said
this movie was freaking amazing better then the original in my opinion
Stephen King!? He DID direct Maximum Overdrive....
A sure pass, the original was one of the best if not the best vampire related film ever made. America needs to stop remaking films, it is always a fail.

It's not explicitly mentioned but the whole script is infused with a gender theme (e.g. comments about Owen being a girl) which harks back to the fact Abby is a boy in the original book. Plus, the scene from the original where you see a crotch shot is in this version but there's no cut to the crotch shot, instead you see Owen look shocked at what he sees when Abby is getting dressed - and which is a knowing nod to those who've seen the original/read the book. It's an excellent film, can't wait for it to hit R2!

The original movie didn't show her to be a boy. The book did, but not the movie. In the movie, you just saw messed up "girl parts." There was nothing else. That could be put down to genital mutilation. There was the line where she said, I'm not a girl, which could just mean that she's not a girl but a vampire.
My dad and I saw the original in a theatre on Halloween night 2008 and we loved it. My dad hasn't been really enthusiastic about seeing this remake, but I have with its very positive reception. I didn't get around to seeing it, though, so I'll probably rent it. I also don't mind the cover.
DonnieDarko you really know nothing about what you are talking about because this movie even surpases the original. Read the reviews this movie got and you will see this is nothing like the rest of the awful remakes. This one shines

It is nice that you know that I know nothing
I really do not need to see a remake of one of the best films ever made, sorry, was fooled too often by american remakes, even if the film is ok or good, what is the point ?. The story has been told perfectly with amazing actors, why should I bother to see this movie again with american actors ?

I agree. I bought the blu-ray of "Let The Right One" in just to compare them and I thought this was superior. They actually managed to improve upon it. I love that they added a police officer to the mix. Very well done.

Good lord, $40 Blu-Ray???? The movie studios want to sell Blu-Rays for that much to us???? I guess we're lucky stores don't sell them for that much!
Loved Let the Right One In and heard good things about this one, may blind-buy
i like the original and this one...with a slight edge going to the original. does anyone else find it hard to classify this as a horror movie??? i honestly thought this was more of a love story. i felt the same way about leon the professional.
Anchor Bay, can you please stop using that ugly DVD logo?
It's weird, I don't think their logo is ugly... :S
