This makes me very happy. I was on the verge of importing a few of these studio canal releases and this'll save me a few bucks.
I'll definitely get The Ladykillers. Peter Sellers is the undisputed king of comedy!!
Those look like possible slipcovers... & not the digibooks that were released overseas. Would rather have a digibook personally.
Great to see Ran getting a Blu-ray release. The Criterion DVD was steller, so it's a pity they lost the rights. But this one does seem to have some good features, not to mention the A.K. documentary. I'll definately be picking this up. The cover is pretty neat too, even though it has the Rising Sun theme going on.
I'm pretty keen on picking up The Ladykillers too. I saw the Coen Brothers remake, which I did like. This cast is excellent so it'll be a blind buy for me.
I'm not too keen on Contempt though. I saw Godard's Breathless and will be watching Alphaville soon, but I prefer Truffut to Godard. Sometime down the line I will watch this and possibly pick it up then.

These are Optimum Blu-rays, not Lionsgate. These are out now, with more being released Feb 15th, including Ladykillers. They're all Digibooks

I think you're confusing these with the UK versions. Lionsgate is releasing these Studio Canal collections in the US, and they aren't out here quite yet.

I cannot find a review for Ran, due to it's very short name but here are a couple for Contempt:

The first review points out the UK BD is Region A and B encoded and all the extras are 480/60i. So it's very likely the USA BD will be identical.
