One of the best movies of the year. Supporting Actor category is gonna be the toughest category at the Oscars this year cause I think both Carell and Nicholson deserve Oscars. This movie was terrific, and the cover is excellent. So glad they went with the poster, and the quote isn't that distracting.

I'm on the fence about this one. It was very well made and I liked it, but I dunno it made me feel sad and depressed while watching it more than it made me laugh.
Keep hearing alot about this. Maybe I'll pick it up or give it a rent....
Will pick this up.
Perfect, stunning cover. One of my favorites from this year, a poignant, funny, and emotionally resonant film. It made you cry, made you laugh, made you gasp.... Will eagerly pick this up. Good point, the supporting actor category is most certainly crowded (although I would give it to Nicholson, merely because both performances were outstanding, but Carrell has got his whole career ahead of him and plenty of other opportunities, and Nicholson is nearing the end of his rope unfortunately and his movies are few and far between. I'm sorry if I'm a bit biased but him and Depp are my favorites). This movie should, and will be up for some Oscars, and rightfully so, it is refreshing to have films like this in the brainless summer movie season and overall dreck of most films lately.
Wanted to see this so bad, but couldn't catch it. I'll definetly buy. Great artwork!
my 4th favorite canadian gave this movie a glowing review on imdb so I can't wait to check it out
didn't know greg kinnear was still making movies

Awesome freakin' movie!!!
I really, really wanted to see this when it was in theaters. I was ashamed of myself when I passed it down to go see Invincible

Second best film of the year so far! Nice artwork, but I wish we didn't have the cast pictures across the top. I also wish that this were a two-disc set! Either way this is a must buy.

Just wondering, what do you think is the best so far?

The time right around Christmas is going to be very expensive for me.
Yeah, I'm buying this in a heartbeat. Such a heartwarming and beautiful film with PERFECT performances all around. Cover art's great too!
awwww loved this movie. amazing. please give it some oscar noms at the very least. I could totally see this getting a best original screenplay win. great acting and wonderful performences by all.
DEFINITELY one of the best films I've seen this year! I'm definitely including this in my DVD collection!!
Um, yeah, I am gonna buy this! It's the best film IMO to be released this year. I have only seen it once at the theater but I think this will only get better with repeated viewings for sure.
This movie is far from the best this year, but I will more than likely pick it up. It was a good one, I give it a 9/10. My favorites of the year so far are The Departed and The Prestige though.
"The Prestige" is the only film I've seen this year that I loved more than this one - can't wait to pick it up, and right in time for Christmas. So glad they went with the poster artwork.
Gah. So overrated. And I saw it BEFORE it was big (before it was even in theaters), so this isn't just backlash from the hype.
Pretty much takes big handfuls of pages from the Make Your Own Indie Movie handbook, adds a superficial layer of quirkiness, and throws in some jokes from National Lampoon's Vacation. Carell, Arkin, and Breslin were fantastic, sure -- the movie is not without merit -- but it's far from the best movie of the year and it's being over-praised, especially by some fake-elitists who have never seen a genuine indie film before, and their friends who don't want to seem dumb by not loving it. Worth a rental, but not a buy.

One of the best movies of the year, I laughed so hard...
A definite buy for me.

Best comedy this year!!!
I stayed away from this one for awhile because I expected a trendy indie movie. I rented it at a hotel and actually found it to be a very charming and fun movie. Buying.
Good thing it's coming out before 2007.
I really enjoyed this film, especially the performances by Breslin and Arkin. I think I might have to pick this one up for Christmas.
Terrific film. Here's hoping for a Blu-Ray release sometime soon as well.
Can't Wait!
I think this is the third best film of the year behind The Departed and Thank You For Smoking. I will pick this up.
i wanted to go see it but never did, I will be looking forward in seeing this film

"Genuine indie film?" I'm assuming you're a "real elitist" and yet you still categorize "Indie" as a genre? This movie was made on a low budget, features famous, but not mega-famous actors (even Steve Carell wasn't famous when he was first cast in the movie) and is leagues ahead of most Hollywood entertainment. That doesn't mean that it's a "real indie film," just that it's a good movie. You can diss the movie all you want, but to claim that all people who like it are "fake elitist" makes you sound like an asshole. Just because someone's an elitist doesn't mean they have to be assholes.
