Lost (US - DVD R1)
We have some early artwork for the first season of the hit show
Title: Lost
Starring: Naveen Andrews
Released: 6th September 2005
SRP: $59.99
Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates today. I've been having some pretty serious computer problems! Doh! Things should be back up and running shortly. But enough of my excuses. Buena Vista has just released some early artwork for the first season of the J.J Abrams show Lost which stars Naveen Andrews, Emilie de Ravin and Matthew Fox. The set will be available to own from the 6th September this year, and should retail at around $59.99. Each of the episodes will be presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Extras will include the never-before-seen, extended uncut version of the original pilot, exclusive, in-depth behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the show, backstage with Drive Shaft all-access pass behind the music, the art of Matthew Fox featurette; ‘Before They Were Lost’ original casting tapes, a blooper reel, rare deleted scenes and multiple filmmaker audio commentaries.

Is there a chapter insert?
I picked up my LOST set with Desperate Housewives...and noticed I didn't get a chapter insert..please tell me I'm not the only one or else I'm gonna get pissed!
Why do they all look like they've stumbled off a Calvin Klien ad?
Cool menus.
Its pretty annoying to watch episodic television out of sequence. I am now the proud owner of a new baby TIVO. But I will still collect this series as long as it is well done.
Nice stills for the menus.
:o
They´re very, very cool.
I never saw the show when it was playing so this outta make for a good rental.
Sweet menus there.
Those are some kick-ass menus.
Kick-ass menus for a great show that is. Can't wait to get this one... I missed the first few episodes.

Has anyone else noticed that they spelled Ian Somerhalder's name wrong? One M, not two.
I hope they notice it and fix that up.

In my humble opinion, "Lost" is by far the best new show of this past season. If I owned a TIVO I wouldn't have missed a single episode. I haven't purchased much in the way of television shows on DVD, however, I am making an exception for this exceptional show.
Honorable mention: "House" is a pretty damn good show as well.
As much as ABC shows repeats of this show, I'm surprised you haven't seen the episodes you've missed. I missed an episode once, and they've repeated it twice already. I love the show, I think it's great, but they're killing me with the repeats!

Decent series, but I have missed most of them, so when this is released I will rent them and catch up
I just read a newspaper article that this will not be available in Australia till at least September due to the fact we are so far behind in the season here!

Cool box art. Maybe the polished silver look has something to do with that hatch that Charlie and Locke (crazy hunter guy with the scar) found in the jungle.
Boone and Locke, not Charlie and Locke.

I've seen so many good shows go down after (a) strong first (few) season(s).
Eg 24, Smallville, Earth: Final Conflict, Roswell.
I'll agree with all of those shows declining after strong starts with the exception of 24, it has consistantly been a great show and this fourth season has so far through twelve episodes been the best yet.

Fantastic show.
Over here in NZ it's shown in letterbox. We don't have HDTV yet, only analogue and (pay) DTV.

I live in the U.S. and I've only watched the first 8 episodes... I fell behind. I remember it being in full screen format though. Not letterbox.
It's televised in widescreen here where I live regardless if I watch it in HD in my t.v. room or on regular broadcast in the bedroom, the only difference is that the regular broadcast is letterboxed and the HD is not on the 16x9 television.

Like most shows it's filmed in widescreen. But unless you have a widescreen tv it's gonna be in fullscreen.
Actually I believe they show it in fullscreen unless you have HDTV or maybe it might just be fullscreen for Canada but CTV has HDTV too.

Great show. but i must say i like J.J. Abrams show "Alias" better.
Do you guys know that the supernatural show "Miracles" is coming to DVD April 19th. Was also on ABC but got cancelled way to soon. Pretty dark show i may add. The reason i am writing this is because this website has not at all promoted the DVD release. And i find that very weird. Go to this site and check out more about this cool show
Thanks Michael, I really liked Miracles too, and was really bummed out when ABC canned it without giving it a proper chance (and after mistreating it, as well). So thanks for the heads up on that!

Hold on- this Show is in Widescreen? I've never noticed that. Is it possible that the syndicate I watch it on is cropping it?

That metalic look was stolen from Jurassic Park III's cover.
I need to start watching this show.

I like the cover, but I wish they had it all black with the title 'Lost" at a an angle like they do with the title at the begining of each episode.
Hmmm...that would have been very classy, but as it stands this artwork is still pretty decent. This is a fairly good show, I only hope the writers can sustain things over the course of multiple seasons given the inherent nature of the show or else it might end up like Gilligan's Island before you know it.

I'll have to pick this up. Lost is a great show.

Meh, I would buy it even if the artwork was John Locke trying on toupes.
Come to think of it, I would be more likely to buy it then.

Cover looks great and no silly quotes on it! Cool!
Looks like it will be released over there way before the season finishes here on Aussie TV.
'Tis usual.

This series is awesome.
I thought the metal look was because of the plane (crash).
Can't wait for the LOST goodness to hit DVD. Bring it on. Repeats make anxiously wait for the rest of the season on TV.

Sweetness.

I don't really like the show but that is an awesome box art.
Rumor has it that this is going to include a short film made especially for the DVD that'll shed some light on what caused the crash...
Nice box art. This show is surprisingly very good and quite addictive. I'm a bit confused as to what the metal look is suposed to represent? They are on an island... the only metal would be from the plane and it doesnt really play a big enough part in the show to make it on the cover art, SINCE ITS IN THE WATER. It looks like its going to have a box similar to the size of the Recent Alias: Season three... Im not a big fan of that show but they really need to re-release season 1+2 with the same type of box as the third for those fans...
awesome!! i'm soo addicted to this show!! mmm dom!
Great art.
Sweet artwork, but this show has gotten boring because they are not telling you anything and there is a new episode every month with a million reuns inbetween. Its very annoying. I want some answers!!! Come on guys!
Oh yes... I will most certainly be adding this to my collection

If were lucky, each season will have a diff. character on the spine. Otherwise, they'll fuck it up like they did for M*A*S*H
sweet.
I can't wait for this and I'm surprised that the cover has been released already.
This is my favourite new show on television and I'll be picking it up this September!
