Just four more days! I can't wait! This is my favorite show on television right now.
Theodore Bell - maybe if you've actually watched Lost insted of just seeing bits and getting upset because you don't understand it you might actually like it. Go on give it a try!!!
Will there be commentaries on ALL episodes or just the ones shown in the menus?
yes nice one cant wait
Awesome. Now I'll have time to catch up before the 3rd Season airs.
This is good news brotha's.
Des what are you doing with that booze? Can't you see i'm saving the the world brotha?!?!.

This is great news.
hell yeah...the sooner, the better.
That is great news that they've moved it forward - Lost is one of those shows that benefits so much from the DVD format and I can't wait to watch them all again!
Sweet, now I can own it even earlier. I love the packaging of R1 much better, and the price too. Of course by the time I get it, the season will just have finished in the UK, so no temptation to watch ahead. I prefer watching it in anticipation week to week. And anyone who doesn't like this show is just lame, nuff said.
Moved from the 3rd October to the 5th September.
Looks awesome.
Same as everybody get rid of the extended experience the artwork would have been ok.Will buy it anyway.
thank jeebus.
That was the original artwork that some websites posted before the revised artwork above was released.
Does anyone know if the art shown at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FIMG68/qid...) has replaced the art here?
If so, I'm going to go kill someone. The first set was so mediocre, a show like "Lost" deserves a more interesting design. I can stand the "Extended Experience" bit show above, but if they really get white, bold and all-caps over half the front, I ask you readers to join me in said going to kill someone.

I'll watch anything with Michelle Rodriguez!!! Do I HAVE to watch Season 1 to understand season 2???
I hope Buena Vista gets rid of "The Extended Experience"
Other than that I think it looks awsome! Can't wait for it.

Yep, LOST will run in two rerun free segments next year. This is FANTASTIC NEWS. No word on the exact start date but I would guess based on the DVD release date of season 2, that we should expect season 3 to start in mid October.

Are the castaways pulling a Prison Break? Scheduling-wise, it looks that way. In a Tuesday-morning conference call, ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson announced that Lost will launch its third season with seven consecuctive new episodes, temporarily cede its time slot to the Taye Diggs midseason thriller Day Break, and then return for an uninterrupted run in January or early February, Variety reports. On your mark, get set... discuss.

Riddance to "Extended Experience"
Buena Vista - TAKE OFF THE "THE EXTENDED EXPERIENCE" TAG!!! I think it is abundantly clear that fans don't want OR need it.
It's just an annoying thorn in the side of very important packaging continuity!

Lost - Series 2, Part 1 is coming out on Region 2 on July 17th. I guess the second part along with the complete second season will be available sometime in the end of September!

What I can't believe is that this show is so enormously popular. There're shows I don't follow, but understand others' interest in them. With LOST, it's a mystery why anyone spends an hour a week watching a guy with a 5 o'clock shadow pant, an attractive woman gaze into the distance, and a morbidly obese guy say "dude" a lot.
Coming from J.J. Abrahms, the clown behind another piece of garbage - ALIAS (which, might I add, has finally been canceled - YAY!!) - you could never expect much from this "show".
Wow, Theodore, tell us how you REALLY feel, lol! I love LOST and can't wait for this DVD set to come out (oy, October, though!). I could do without the "The Extended Experience" tagline, but otherwise I like how they kept the overall design the same as Season 1, and I like the vibrant orange colour. The addition of the hatch numbers is cool too, as well as the menus.
(And for the record, I love ALIAS too. If this show, and LOST, are your definition of garbage, lead me to your dumpster, "dude"!) :D

whats up with the desp housewives "extra juicy" title, grey's anatomy "uncut" and lost's "extended experience"...its annoying..STOP DOING THAT BUENA VISTA!!!! ALL THREE DVDS COME OFF BUENA VISTA AND SOMETHIGN KEEPS CHANGING..alias better not be like that too..well alias changed packaging in seasons 1-3..finally consistent from 3-4..so 5 better be the same..or REALLY nice looking since they are all kinda different..like 3and4 had some slight package differences..

Best show on television.....know where my money is going October.....
Looks like season 3 will have already started by the time this dvd set releases. I will have to buy it since I missed quite a few episodes of season 2.
great show- naysayers just have bad taste...according to me (don't even try to argue that, i'm stating opinion and am not trying to pass my statement off as objective)
Did any one notice that above Sayid's head there are shadowy figures in the mountains... OTHERS perhaps?
Well, the final artwork improves the previously one, but still I don't like it. I like the pic, but not the rest. And Buena Vista, please, remove that stupid tag!
Mine mINE MINEemien mine mine ALLLL MIIIINE
don't watch the show but the covers are good.
I disagree. Twin Peaks is way better than Lost. Twin Peaks had resolution and a way better story and better characters. Lost is lost in its own boring storylines.
Holy c**p, what happened on last night's episode?! Next Wednesday needs to come NOW!
Oh yeah, can't wait for this to come out.
Oh yeah, can't wait for this to come out.
Best show on TV hands down...anyone who says it's "overrated" is just being ignorant. Not a big fan of the art though...looks like they tried to keep the same theme as the S1 box but failed.
I find interesting how both packaging and menus "spoil" the new season... I've had friends already complaining that there are new characters on the cover (they're waiting for the DVD release to watch the series) LOL
Ok art, but it seems to be the new craz to label a Television season as an extended or uncut edition. What`s up with that?
Kaya Savas wrote: That cover is looking great, but what is up with "The Extended Experience". The season has been amazing so far, and tonight's episdoe (5/3/06) was amazing. How does Michael do something like that?!?!
Michael's obviously not all there. Either that, or Spoiler he's working with the Others. They probably won't give Walt back unless he runs errands or something for them. In order to get Walt back, he probably needs to "take care of" the Others, so he found a way to tick off Jack enough to take the fight to them. I don't care what his excuse is. Spoiler He's a sick %#@&, and he needs to be shot. Actually, he needs to be tortured first. Anna-Lucia was beginning to grow on me, and if Libby's dead (Hurley didn't seem too concerned in the Preview, so the jury's still out on that.), I'm going to be ticked (more than I already am). I can't wait for the season finale.

It's funny you should say that. Spoiler On tonight's episode, "Two for the Road", Michael shot Anna-Lucia and Libby. He then shot himself in the arm and freed Henry, an Other that was being held for questioning in the hatch. As much as I've hated Michael this season, it's at a whole new level now. I'm hoping that Jack and the others (not those Others) figure out that it was Michael and not "Henry" who's the murderer. Michael better get his by the end of the season.
Nevertheless, I can't wait for the season finale and for this DVD set to come out. October's not that far away.

Why would I want to name characters, discuss a plot or talk about literary references if I don't like the show?

they probably just watched "fire + water" or "white rabbit" and didn't find it captivating enough to catch their dwindling, small attention span. it's a shame really. these are the same people who claim "twin peaks" is the greatest show ever.

okay, so final artwork... is it just me, or does the "2" look too clean? the "1" on season one seemed a little broken up and dirty... I want it too look good on my shelf!!
the menus however: GORGEOUS. the menus from season 1 were beautiful and it looks as though that tradition will continue

Right, final artwork added - along with some menus...
Firstly, I don't think that the cover art is the final version. The season 1 art had a big "1" at the bottom. I would hope they would put a 2 on the season 2 set to be consistent. Also, I question that extended expierience tag, just doesn't look right.
I have to say that I LOVE this show. I am so glad season 2 has now started. And I am also very glad it is uninterrupted here. This set will come out right when the season ends here, so will be perfect. I, of course, will be ordering the R1 as I did for the first season. I can't wait!!

Wow, the text on the cover looks amateur photoshop. I'll go whip up a new cover in 4 minutes. Puh-lease.
Like someone else said, the reason they have breaks between episodes is for the advertising revenue. It irritates the viewer some BUT they make a lot more money. LOST is doing about 16 million for each new episode. If they get only half of that for a rerun, that's still not bad, and they can still get plenty of advertisers. I don't know if half is realistic but it's probably close.
Like I said in my first post, I think LOST will go to a three block system next season. A single shot like Alias or 24 will NOT happen. Prison Break did a three part this season- they did take two weeks off in October so it wasn't just a Fall half and a Spring half like someone said. If you do 8 episodes at a crack, people will be ok. It's the one or two at time that's really annoying. Plus, it gives the producers a chance to really incorporate big cliffhangers to bring the viewers back for more.

No I actually watched tons of episodes because every week I was hoping something would happen that would explain something. But now I am frustrated because, at least for me, I feel like the show is going nowhere.

i realy..realy don't like it.....it is one of the most dull shows ever........won't buy it even if it was for $1.

I don`t know why this has become the phenomenon it is today because in my opinion, it`s really boring and nothing exciting ever happens.
I always leg behind when it comes to Lost, so I guess I'm gonna have to give it a rent in order to be ready for the third season...

The almighty dollar. The sooner they can start airing new eps they can rake in that advertising dollar - but because the TV season is longer than how many eps they shoot in a year they are left with holes to fill - and they are filled with repeats....which is why on shows like this they should do it the "24 way" and start in January so they can air uninterupted.

If this does not end next season (oh the hope)...expect it to be simply cancelled half-way through Season 4 with no ending at all!
I really dont understand the US way of running TV shows. It seems completely bizarre to be stopping, starting and taking breaks in the middle of a series run.
I prefer the UK way whereby we may have to wait for a bit but at least it is uninterrupted.
The show is addictively infuriating!! So many questions, so little answers. Always keeps you intrigued. I hope it pays off with a few decent answers eventually.

Will be getting this, no question. Haven`t seen anything of the second season yet, was still waiting for the dvd set. Can`t wait for this one :D
From what I've read on random movie websites and so forth, when they weren't sure how the show would do, they had it mapped out for 1-2 seasons. After it was well recieved, they had it mapped out for 4-5 seasons and now JJ has said he has Lost mapped out for 9 seasons. If season 1 is the first 45 days or so and the rest of the series continues that trend, that's going to be a long time for everyone to "remain the same age" relatively speaking.
As far as Prison Break goes, I do enjoy that show but when it went off the air for four months or so, it drove my up the wall. They way Fox runs 24 starting in January with no interuptions through out the season would be my prefered viewing schedule with Lost. I hate having it go for 2 weeks, taking 3 weeks off, airing an episode, then taking more time off. The show is too addictive to toy with a man's feelings like that

Or is it just started earlier this year in the UK... think my freind said it's starts today?
The Season One box was released beginning of September last year, so indeed it's late compared to the previous year.

Best show ever. I love the characters, the music, the plot, the everything. One of the best shows ever produced, so much in it. October is soooooooooo far away though, I mean they released Season 1 in September if I recall.
Continuous Airings`
The one show that has gotten it right is 24, and to some extent Prison Break. Because 24 starts in January, it allows all the episodes to be aired without interruptions. Also, Prison Break follows a good airing format by showing the 1st half of the season in the fall, then finishing the season in March without interruptions. I don't think ABC will start Lost in January, so the 24 schedule is out, but they could always follow the Prison Break schedule.

Everyone's biggest complaint with the show is the lack of continuity when they do two episodes, off for a week, two more, and then three weeks off. It gets confusing and irritating So they were thinking starting the show later, in say mid-October, run 8 weeks until mid December. Pick up again in mid-January until mid March and then take three or four weeks off before the big finish. I doubt ABC will ever allow LOST to go non-stop but they might agree to a three block format. That's what this later date says to me.
ABC should really do what they did for Alias in season 4 and what Fox does for 24 - begin the season in January allowing for a complete run without repeats. Lost is one of those shows that doesn't really repeat well due to the continuing nature of the show....

I heard they had enough plotlines to cover four or five seasons so I don't see this ending soon. I lost interest towards the end of the first season (pun intended) but the second season really gains momentum.
I think there's plenty of potential to keep interest. Great show.

Ahh, Season 2 starts tonight in the UK! I have been looking forward to it for a while!

ugh!!! a show that makes people think!? HOW DARE THEY!
Yeah, right now it's turning into a better version of 'Twin Peaks'. Let's just hope JJ knows how to end it properly.
I love this show but I don't think it can sustain a super-long run...maybe 4-5 years at most. After that it'll be hard to carry on without answering a bunch of the questions and thus potentially ending the story. I do like the addition of Michelle Rodriguez to the cast.
And is that something bad, Steven? Not for me :D
I love this show!
I saw a preview of the artwork, and it was awful. So bad...
I hope they keep the same colors and style of the first season. At least the style.

This show irritates the hell out of me. Nothing happens!!! Its just a bunch of random weird things that dont ammount to anything. I liked it in the beginning when you had no idea what was going on, but now you get no answers, just more questions.
Let me be the first to say ...."$#%@ YEAH" Been waiting for this to come out on DVD for frickin ages
