First few eps were pretty boring, but the season finale was AMAZING. Can't wait to hear the audio commentaries on this one. But what's with the december release date? the last one was early September. C'mon now Disney. Rush this thing out!
the show returns in january/february....thats why the dvd is being released in december....financially its a smart move but as a fan it IS annoying..lol
What a great season! I can't wait to rewatch the entire thing. I understand why they're waiting until December, but as someone who plans on re-watching all 3 seasons before February, this makes for a lot of crunching those last two months - and during the holidays too! Oh well.
First it's announced for both BD and DVD, now an official press release stating no BD... I think Disney needs to get their act together and release the show on Blu-ray. If any Disney property (outside the realm of animation and their catalogue titles) could sell on BD, Lost would be at the top of the list. Let's hope the execs pull their heads from wherever they are and get the BD release on the calendar.
Odd man out here:
I don't understand the appeal for this show. I liked the first few episodes from the first season, but after that, I LOST interest. Granted, I am selective with my TV shows as of late (Thurs and Sun nights being my only free nights to actually sit down and relax in front of the TV)
I read this show was only supposed be a filler, not an actual series, and that the writers/producers are scrambling about to keep the show going and not even really knowing for sure where they're going with it. The ultimate in impromptu, and I applaud them for their efforts, but I just can't appreciate it that much, I guess.

What's the point in releasing Season 3 but not 1 or 2 on HD?
I never got into "Lost", who needs other shows than "X-Files" anyway?
it usually came out in early novemeber why December this time???
No, it usually came out in September, a week or two before the premiere of the new season. I am sure they are waiting since season four wont start up again until February...
Lame. I hope they bump it up!

Really? I'd love to read that article because it's strange that ABC would give the largest budget ever for a pilot ($12 million, though it may have lost the record since then) to a show that was meant as a filler. Also, considering the deliberateness with regards to the pacing of the series and the recent announcement of the endpoint in 3 years, I have to cast doubt upon the rumor that the producers are making it up as they go along.
And even if they are, I still find the show to be the most entertaining and involving on network TV. As long as that continues, I'll keep watching.

The 3rd season was absolutely amazing. Not to mention the season finale. Yon can't praise it enough it was that good:-)
I really lost interest in the show during the second season. The first season of "Lost" was amazingly taut, well-paced and kept the audience guessing -- with the secrets of the island revealed, the show has lost its spark (pun intended). That said, the third season did pick up steam (but then I didn't see 75% of this season's episodes, only the season finale).
And I thought the finale was predictable in places, but it was good. Still hasn't made me want to invest time in picking up where I left off, though.

Great show. Can't wait for next season but damn, December is a long way off.
The best show on TV.What a finale,I was expecting something else but they really turned this thing on it's head and left you questioning everything. The first season is still the best though.
I'm waiting for a complete series set.
Since the other ABC shows have those stupid edition titles, what do you think this one will be?
I think the "Found" Edition, or "Other" Edition, or "LOST" Edition. That last one is so hideously contrived I think they may just use it...

I love this show but missed the second half of season 3 because of the time change, I wish they would move it back to 8 PM. December is a long way off but I can wait.
No cover??? DECEMBER??? I am extremely pissed off now.
hell yes.
I tried to like this show and watched about the first half of the first season but just totally lost interest in it.
I too had heard that the writers were getting a bit lost in their own story threads and that the "we're definitely finishing this in X years" issue was because they were losing lots of viewers due to the fact that the storylines just kept seeming to loop around themselves and not actually seem to be heading in a specific direction. The studio felt that if they announced a definite end date - eg: The end will happen at the end of the 3rd season from now - then it would keep people watching.
And can anybody tell me what the hell the polar bear was all about?!?

I wish they planned the release for earlier because I missed out on the last half of season 3. It is pain to a fan. I rather have Disney release this in November or October to build sales momentum in time for the holidays.
I can't seem to find the article I mentioned. I know what site I found it on, but the search function is anything but accurate and I have no idea what point in time I read it, so that makes browsing the archives too time-consuming.
From what I remember, it was only supposed to last for the summer and be neatly tied up in a simple fashion. ABC saw the ratings and pushed to renew if for a second season. The creators very reluctantly continued and contracted the actors for more than one season. I guess they go through a lot of writers, so this series is a major mass compilation.

Aw c**p- December??? *sigh*
Maybe that's a good thing, as the time I *thought* this was gonna be released, I'd also had to pick up Heroes, and Jericho, so maybe this is a good thing, financially.
The first 6 or 8 eps of this past season BLEW, but after the hiatus, hot dog, did this show turn around. Josh Holloway needs an Emmy nomination for the ep where he finally confronts the real Sawyer.

Best. Season Finale. Ever (Not series finale, mind you, that would be Six Feet Under)
However I won't be getting this set because I know they're gonna release the whole thing in some super-fancy (and hopefully extra-filled) repackaging after the series ends...

Blu-ray would be awesome! Amazing show, love it. Oh, as to the delayed release date. This time around they are waiting till mid-season to air. So they are doing what 24 does and run non-stop till summer with no breaks. That's why the set is not coming out till December.
Lost unfortunately lost the plot with its third season, and even the last very good episodes of the season are not enough to counter that.
Shame, Loved the first two seasons.
Shame, Loved the first two seasons.
true that, but thats gonna be like in 2011 or 2012
Season 3 is clearly the best one yet. Great storylines, great secrets and - at last - great answers. And the last three minutes of the finale are mind-blowing.

Actually, according to another site, it is going to be "The Unexplored Experience." I guess this is to follow the extended experience of season two.
I am looking forward to this, hopefully best buy will have the extra disc they have had before. I agree with other people that the show lagged in the beginning of the season, but then picked up and ended with a bang. Awesome stuff, can't wait for season 4.
