MacGyver (US - DVD R1)
Paramount Home Video has sent over a few details on MacGyver's final season
Title: MacGyver (IMDb)
Starring: Richard Dean Anderson
Released: 24th October 2006
SRP: TBC
Further Details:
Paramount Home Video has sent over a few details on the upcoming release of the seventh and final season of MacGyver, which will be available on the 24th of October at a yet to be determined retail price. The four-disc set will contain all fourteen episodes from the final season including the 'heartwarming' series finale and present each episode in its televised aspect ratio of 1.33:1 with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Surround audio track. No extras have been mentioned for the release, and judging by the number of discs in the set it looks as if the later telefilms will not be included either, but we'll let you know if either changes. Also avaiable on October 24th will be a collection containing all seven MacGyver box sets, so save your pennies for that one. We've attached our first look at the artwork below.

For a TV series that was inventive in how MacGyver got out of trouble each week, the DVD's have held no innovation. I know, it is the episodes, not extras which are really important. But dang, is it too much to ask for a little more than just the episodes?

I suppose if the two telemovies aren't included on this smaller set, we'll never get them. Doesn't matter much to me, but my sister has always been a major Richard Dean Anderson fan. If MacGyver wasn't on TV Land all the time, she'd have bought these by now.
