In the last piece of Blue Underground news for the day the studio has announced the DVD and Blu-ray release of Bill Lustig's most controversial film, Maniac. The Blu-ray release will include 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Surround EX and Dolby Surround 2.0 audio options, while the DVD will feature 6.1 DTS-ES, Dolby Digital Surround EX and Dolby Surround 2.0 audio options.

Brutal film starring the late Joe Spinell. I have this on dvd, would be worth the upgrade to Blu-ray. Great work by Tom Savini as always!!!
Good news. For a minute there I thought that this was never coming out on Blu-Ray.
this is cool! just recently (like days ago) Alexander Aja (HIGH TENSION) says he will most likely be producing (and his long time partner Gregory Levasseur directing) the remake to this movie! i think if any duo/person can make this a AWESOME remake it's them/him.
As great as Maniac is, it can't top the opening of The Last Horror Film (aka Fanatic). Joe Spinell jerking off in the audience of a gore movie? It's an image which burns itself into your brain!
It's a good job it didn't inspire audience participation...
