i cant find the links to neither the carpenter, dante or coscarelli film on imdb. any help?
This series was the second most disappointing piece of junk I have wasted my precious time watching over the past few years (the first being the incredibly execrable 'Stephen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes'). Buy the DVD? I would rather stick cayenne-pepper-laced red-hot needles into my eyes, squirt them with lemon juice and then fill my eye-sockets with chilli-pepper seeds.
The worst of the entire lot was the abominable 'Cigarette Burns', the most self-indulgent piece of trash I've seen for a long time - proof positive that John Carpenter's career hit its peak 25 years ago. This episode makes 'Ghosts Of Mars' seem like a masterpiece.
I know I'm ranting, and sounding like the worst kind of troll, but I feel very strongly about this series. the concept held such great potential and so the disappointment was that much greater. I truly do resent the hours I wasted watching each and every episode, expecting that there had to be one 'golden nugget' there somewhere.
Ok, rant over. I'll bide my time now until the announcement for Nightmares and Dreamscapes.

the best episode was imprint and I got that today on dvd, it's by far the freakiest episode
First, Why is this set not complete? Takeishi Mike was part of the series, and was suppose to be part of this box set. Second, Anchor Bay is infamous for ignoring the States. We are still waiting on the Phantasm and HellRaiser box set, so "Region 2" is no surprise.
any reason why anchor bay has terrible art for these now (R1)? I miss the hand drawn style they used to have.
I just want them to release the Miike entry already.
They won't show it on TV but they have been pushing it an awful lot at festivals. It's supposed to tear "Memoirs of a Geisha" a new one.
GIMME MY MIIKE!!!!!!!!!

GIMME MY MIIKE!!!!!!!!!
I recorded all these on DVD when they were on Cable. I'm glad I did because there was no way I was paying the $10-$15 an episode here in the USA. I llike that R2 atleast gets then in some sort of a box set.
I'll have to pick up the last episode since it was never aired on cable.

I'll agree with that.
I also liked Incidient and Homecoming a lot but Homecoming needed to be on a bigger scale
Deer Woman, Homecoming and Cigarette Burns were my three decent picks though Homecomings ending doesn't do it for me, Deer Woman seems to exhibit more personality than the rest with Landis and Cigaerette Burns, while a globe trotting affair is obviously filmed entirely in Vancouver, which is always noticable.
£24.99 [$51 cdn] is pretty good seeing how they were being sold here for $13 an episode in Canada.

I'd say Homecoming was easily the best...but it was also pretty much the only one I liked. Jenifer was ok, but I only bought it as an Argentophile, and probably won't ever watch it again. I've removed most of these from my Netflix cue, but I'll still give Sick Girl and Imprint a chance, haven't seen them yet.
The DVDs themselves aren't bad though...

Cigarette Burns is easily the best
The Don Coscareli one should have been a full length movie. It has big screen potential.
Been waiting for a boxset also.
I liked Deer Woman (funny), Sick Girl (kind of funny), and Fair Haired Child.
Gah! I've been holding off on buying these, waiting for something like this in the U.S. Bring it over Anchor Bay or else you'll see none of my money.
I also will not buy any of the individual releases. Most of these episodes/films sucked. My favorite was Lucky McKee's Sick Girl. If they release the whole season on DVD for less than $40 I might buy it but I will never pay near $150 for a season of mediocre episodes.
Wouldn't it be great if these had actually been good films?
I already have Cigarette Burns,Homecoming,Dreams in the Witch House,Incident On and Off a Mountain Road so i'll just but the 3 ones i'm missing but I might by the box if it's cheap on play.com or something
AAAARRRGG!!!! WHEN CAN WE EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN THE US? COME ON ANCHOR BAY!!! I personally will not buy the individual releases!! I'm waiting for a complete season box set!!!
