Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the complete first season of Maude which stars Bea Arthur, Adrienne Barbeau, Bill Macy, Conrad Bain, and Rue McClanahan. The three disc collection features all 22 episodes from the critically acclaimed comedy series’ first season - and will be available to own from the 20th March. Retail will be around $29.95. Each of the episodes will be presented in digitally remastered full screen, along with English Stereo soundtracks. The only extra material will be bonus previews. We've attached our first look at the official package artwork below:

Is this not one of the signs of the apocalypse... Maude is coming to DVD? I know we live in a world of everything imaginable is hitting DVD (and yes, I remain surprised still to this day of the ones that are made into season sets), but is there really enoug of a demand out there for this? I guess when ever Golden Girls finishes up their sets, the comsumers will have this to move on to.

I'm glad to see this coming out. Maude was groundbreaking at the time and Bea Arthur is wonderful....looking forward to getting this.
