Nice! The first R1 edition is only available in full screen and it was pretty much a bare bones release. The only special feature I recall that was included was a trailer. Great flick!

I've never seen Meatballs and I've always wanted to, especially after seeing "Wet Hot American Summer," a parody of eighties summer camp movies. Did/do Americans really go to summer camp for eight weeks in summer? The camp I went to lasted only three weeks.
I doubt this will get an R2 release, if not I'm certainly importing this!

Yup many do, but not all. There are tons of them too with differant themes.I never did it but my parents would always threaten me with it.I don't really remember Meatballs or Wet Hot American Summer but I am pretty sure I have seen em both...

Despite Bill Murray's efforts to make this movie really funny it falls a tad short. Albeit a good debut and the movie does have it's moments and even spawned a few sequels if memory serves, Meatballs is a fun teen-coming-of-age-rise-above type movie. This release looks promising and may be worth adding to the collection. To really experience Bill Murray's early comic genius no other movies besides Stripes and Caddyshack hit the mark. And of course Groundhog Day is very good as well.
Those films were either made (Meatballs) or set in (Wet Hot) the time-frame I was going to summer camp.
They both bringt back great memories of that time period and I am glad Meatballs is getting a revamp.

I have to pick Meatballs up.
Meatballs is great. WUN YOU WASCAWWY WABBIT, WUN!
Although the sequels were pretty lame, though I kinda liked Meatballs 2. I would love to see a Meatballs boxset with all 4 films. Yes, there are 4 Meatballs movies
sweet!
I love Murray's early stuff!
Picking this up for sure!!!

It just doesn't matter!

As much as I love this movie and would like to see the featurette, I'm going to skip this sinse I own the previous release already.
This is a funny movie. I was 12 when it was released. So I have a soft spot for the movie. What's so funny is that the movie was rated PG when most "Teen Movies" in the 1970's and 1980's were rated R

The DVD has recently been released in Holland. It doesn't include any of the extras.

I wonder if there is any chance the sequels will finally show up.
