This second season has one of the BEST "Vice" episodes ever in “Out Where the Buses Don‘t Run“, but the rest are mostly average and very up and down in quality, far more than season 1 actually.
Sadlt Abel Ferrara's 2nd episode in the series is also a very weak one after the great opening.

I don't know why people get so excited by Universal 1980s TV releases. So it has DD 5.1, but that's only for the music, the picture quality on season 1 was c..p and this won't be any different. Genuine Miami Vice fans can only hope someone at Universal has had their arses kicked and will look at a future HD release. Who the hell decides on releasing one season per year - that means it will be nearly 2010 before you can own all seasons. Come on Universal get your act together!

Becuase we want to get the shows and no other DVd releases exist?
just a crazy thought.

Easily pleased Miami Vice fans......
I am a genuine Miami Vice fan and have been waiting for each season to be released for so, so long. The release schedules for some of Universal's TV shows are ridiculously spaced out. The Region 2 release has been put back so many times and is now only being released to coincide with the new movie! But.......I/you are the fans lining the pockets of Universal and whether or not these are the only DVD releases, the picture quality is only on par with the VHS releases and television screenings. I, along with many friends/similar Vice fans/DVD magazines have compared the picture quality and the DVD picture quality is nothing to write home about. In some cases the quality is terrible!!
Duuuuuuuhhhhhh!....crazy thought, why don't the DVD buying public/fans stand up to companies such as Universal as they have clearly been told in numerous magazines about the poor quality picture and complete lack of show-related extras. You can't just plug the release as having Dolby Digital and expect people to queue up in their hundreds to buy the show. Then again, there are those who will accept a squashed fly if it was to be released on DVD!!
Stop buying the rubbish/poor releases and these companies will react once they see their profits dwindle!!
