best mission impossible movie. hands down. Saw it twice in imax
Honestly, the direction on this was absolutely stellar. How Bird frames and choreographs his shots is just awe-inspiring. This is one of the most well-directed movies I have ever seen. While not as stylish or flashy as Scorsese, Bird's direction is definitely on par. John Woo wishes he could cut scenes as well.
The absolute best shot in the movie comes when Hunt steps out of the Burj Dubai and the camera follows him and turns around. Not only does it provide a crucial sense of geography to the viewer, but it also provides a sense of disorientation. I can't imagine seeing it in IMAX; I would've puked. On top of this pragmatic reason, it's also a gorgeous landscape shot of Dubai.

This 4th installment will blow you off from your seats (not joking.Laughs!) This is one of the greatest I have seen so far!

Greatest action film in years! Or at least the greatest action film I've seen in years. It had that James Bond feel with it's own taste. This film had me at the edge of my seat at so many points. I haven't seen any of the other Mission Impossible, so I wasn't exactly sure if I wanted to see this one. Brad Bird has an amazing view on action films, The Incredibles may have been animated, but it still had greater action sequences than most action films out there. I wasn't a huge Tom Cruise fan either, but this films proves he is one of the best action stars out there. Jeremy Renner was great as always. Will pick this up on blu ray.

it isnt a 3rd disc just for features but a 2nd disc for features since there are only 2 blu-ray discs in this set while the 3rd is a dvd. and 2 disc blu-ray releases are quite normal. OK well excuse me, u know what i meant, I dont need the SECOND disc of features. I wouldnt say 2 disc blurays are always quite normal. A single bluray disc can hold quite a lot so this is actually a rare incident. It seems most studios are even skimping on features lately in general. So again i'm fine with the basic bluray

I hated the comedy with a passion. MI2 still rules the roost.

:-|. Better than Goldeneye and Casino Royale?
Not that you can really compare them. They're quite different.
Better than "Quantum of Solace" which sucked @$$!!!!

seems a pretty easy decision. if you're a fan of behind the scenes stuff, the 3 disc is a no brainer since it has everything. also i'm guessing there will be a 2-4 dollar difference between the two at most so even more reason.

wow, so now they make 2 different versions on blu-ray? i could understand a 1 disc featureless affair and then the extra laden 2 disc version, but to have one have half the extras? that really makes no sense, and of course whichever you get you're still forced to get a dvd copy.
i think hollywood is really confused about marketing to two different audiences. if they really wanna keep dvd around with blu, then cater to each audience. give the dvd buyers back their special editions and let the blu buyers not be forced to get a dvd that'll waste space and least in my neck of the woods, jack the price up 4-7 dollars just to get something you'll never use.
all that said, i am surprised at the amount of extras on the 3 disc set. lets hope they add up to a few hours and aren't all 5mins long. lol

Very entertaining movie. I watch it with my family (that's a rare occasion) and it got my dad's full attention, who's fell asleep during the climax of Transformers, King Kong, Clash of the Titans and Spiderman 3 (on TV screen)^^.
Ok, seriously now. The movie is pretty cool but I think it drags during the sandstorm chase. They can totally trim the lengths of that particular scene and actually make the pace better. I can't believe they omit the scene with the US President (in the trailer, if I'm not mistaken) with this one.

This was a pretty bad ass movie. I dont see who couldnt at least find the action scenes thrilling, they were so intense. I wish more action movies would be like this. They reminded me of the opening of casino royale. The construction site, it was actually scary and it kept u involved. Action movies have become so routine but this shows that if done well they can really turn out great. So yeh ummm... i will be buying this
Looking forward to a Mission Impossible movie finally being released with lossless audio. That was a real missed opportunity with the previous 3.
If you're not a person that's big on action or you're not to fond of Tom Cruise; even if you haven't even seen any of the "Mission Impossible's" or don't care for any of them, this film KICKS. ASS. I fall into the category of all mentioned above and I enjoyed the HELL out of this movie. Believe the hype. This was my favorite action film of last year.
All in for this one. Release day buy, for sure. Best one since the first one. Paula Patton's Jane Carter is, by far, the hottest female IMF agent to ever grace any of these movies. She blew Emmanuelle Beart, Thandie Newton, and Maggie Q's characters away...
Utter garbage. The Die Another Day of Mission Impossible movies.

This movie was so hilarious and one of the best intentional or unintentional comedies of the year. I was laughing the whole time at how over the top and cartoonish every scene was. Awesome movie.
Also this was leagues better than the last 6 James Bond films.

interesting that the blu-ray uses the IMAX poster for its cover. wonder if this means it'll have the IMAX version and do the aspect ratio shift a la Dark Knight.

This is one I'll be buying. Well done and I'd never seen a MI film in the theatres. I hope the same team comes aboard for the next one.

That Blu-Ray cover is utterly spectacular. Subtle, yet unable to ignore. Could be an early candidate for best cover art of the year. I spent like four minutes just eyeing the details. How many covers do you do that too? Especially nowadays.
For the life of me I can't understand what could have possibly made Brad Bird choose this one for his feature debut (I can only speculate that it could have been either the $$$ or some nerdy desire to make a James Bond rip-off; but then again, The Incredibles was that, and much better than MI-4)...
This movie probaly explains why Tom Cruise reportedly rejected the main role for Salt (which then got rewritten for Angelina Jolie): he had a quite similar script already in his hands...

I never seen any of them yet but the blue ray cover looks amazing I hope that's the one they used very cool .May have to get the collection
I thought that this movie was pretty good. Not better than the first two installments, but it was a huge improvement over the lackluster third movie.
I actually thought this was the best one IMH&HO!!!! I never liked the "Mission: Impossible" franchise and I don't even like Tom Cruise. The only reason why I wanted to see it is because I knew the IMAX would be worth it given the fact that the prologue for "The Dark Knight Rises" will be beforehand (big Batman fan). But I end up seeing it and had such a fun time. Definitely getting this on blu-ray and will not get the first three on blu-ray.
In my humble opinion, the best of the three sequels. I had a great time and him climbing the tower was probably the best suspense-oriented scene. I kept thinking "he's gonna be okay, he's the main character" but my fear of heights got the best of me and made me go along for the ride.
