I don't remember Berry's hair being like that in the movie.
Just an observation: looks like the first Lionsgate title that won't be utilizing the God-awful shiny silver package artwork....

I agree. It actually looks a whole lot neater that way. I know the new releases from Lionsgate are sporting it, and it does infact look terrible. They really need to drop it.

It would be cool for two things. A) more features, maybe even a tribute to ledger? B) BOTH cuts just for comparison sake but i may give this a rent. Not worth a lot of replay IMO
I felt sorry for Heath Ledger's character in "Monster's Ball", but a great film nevertheless. A day one purchase for me!

I have to say its a shame Halle won her Oscar for this, Halle's acting in this is average...she has done much better work in her career. As much as I like this film, I do not think the Best Actress Oscar should've been hers. The Oscar for Halle should've come for a more worthy performance.

That part always cracks me up.....Already have this on DVD, but maybe I'll rebuy for the heck of it.

It's good to see the Unrated cut is being included aka the cut everywhere else got anyway.
That 30 seconds of extra Halle nudity is well the price of admission :-D. Seriously it's a top film and one I'll be getting.

It doesn't, it was poor cover art when they used it on the DVD back in the day and is still poor today.

Personally I think it was well deserved. It was Denzel Washington who really shouldn't have won that year, Will Smith should have.
BTW what better performances?

Well from that year I think the Oscar should've gone to Sissy Spacek for In The Bedroom. A much better performance. I think since Denzel won, they wanted to have both leading catergories be African-American. As for Halle, she has done much better then this. Other Halle movies such as Alex Haley's Queen & Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. I know these are all Made For TV movies but Halle's acting in these is on a different level then it is in this.

That was a good performance but personally I think Halle Berry was better. That said the Oscars is all about politics and that was the "black" year.

Yeah it was a 'black year' and thats exactly why Halle won the Oscar that year

"Beyond High Definition." Is this a 6K release already?! Man I missed out on the whole Blu Ray phase(!)
Seriously though, isnt that against trade descriptions rules?

No slight against Heath Ledger - he was great in this film - but surely this is a ploy to cash in on his Dark Knight role by second billing him. This is Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton's film - Ledger is barely in it!
