Terrible cover. Offensive even. This movie really crept up on me. I wasn't sure how much I liked it atfirst but hours afterwards I thought it was brilliant.

Uh? There are plenty of terrible covers around, but this one seems pretty much ok to me. What's so wrong or even so offensive about it?

Exactly. I kinda like the cover. Never heard of the film.

I saw this on HDNET Movies and it was not that bad though I would not buy the DVD.
I will be buying this. I listened to a podcast that had an interview with the lead actors discussing the highly improvised nature of the film and I was intrigued. I saw the trailer awhile ago and it looked awesome. Plus, the special features are actually pretty substantial for an indie film, but it is Magnolia so that explains that.
personally i liked the movie but it's DEFINITELY a bit of misleading promotion. the trailers make it seem like it's alien/MAJOR and drama/minor, but the aliens are really only in the movie for about 5 minutes or so. this movie is focused on the couple and their budding relationship. that being said, the aliens themselves look amazing and i would have LOVED a movie that focused on them. it seems a waste to have not utilized them more in this but i know it's because of budgetary restraints. there's a part towards the end where the CGI tentacles equal that of the loading dock tentacles scene in THE MIST (meaning bad) but all the other CGI stuff is amazing. the movie DOES have tons of atmosphere though. and the music isn't bombastic or cliche. it's haunting and adds (and not distracts) from what you're watching onscreen. again, JUST DON'T EXPECT AN ACTION ALIEN MOVIE!! THIS IS A SLOW NON-ACTION DRAMA THAT HAS A COUPLE OF MINUTES HERE AND THERE OF ALIEN STUFF GOING ON.
the cover is fine with me too. i can't see buying this though the rewatchability factor on this is almost nonexistent IMO.

I'll agree the cover art is awful and truly untrue to the nature of the film. It's apparently difficult for people to advertise any film that differs from the most formulaic approach...I GUESS?!

It just makes the movie look like either a Jurassic Park sequel or a DTV bad CGI King Kong wannabe to me. This movie deserved more in my mind. Something a little more subtle. Something a little moodier and in line with the flick.

I really like the cover but this movie is so boring if you looking for action and fun and a ride you will not get it here.
I want to see this movie, nice assortment of extras is a plus too
I dont mind the cover art. Really loved the movie.
Yeah, saw it on HDNet - actually the movie is very slow and that's ok since the movie is basically a slow burn love story. I found it striking to see how the Mexicans deal with the alien problem and how the US deals with it.
It's a rental for sure. Wouldn't buy it though

I still need to see this! It looks interesting and I liked Whitney Able in "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane". I don't mind the cover either.
