Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced DVD ($27.96) and Blu-ray ($37.95) releases of Moon which stars Sam Rockwell. Each will be available to own from the 12th January. Extras will include a commentary with Writer/Director Duncan Jones, Director of Photography Gary Shaw, Concept Designer Gavin Rothery and Production Designer Tony Noble, a second commentary with Writer/Director Duncan Jones and Producer Stuart Fenegen, and 4 featurettes ("The Making of MOON", "Creating the Visual Effects", "Science Center Q&A with Director Duncan Jones", "Filmmaker's Q&A at the Sundance Film Festival"). Really love this movie, very intelligent. Not just your everyday brainless movie.
Really like the film, However thought it was a bit slow.
I was excited to see this film over the summer because of the fantastic reviews, but I was pretty disappointed. Rockwell is fantastic and it's certainly an impressive debut for Jones in terms of directin. However the narrative really is quite thin. The density of the themes presented really can't be supported by Rockwell himself.
I probably won't pick it up, but it did present a lot of great themes and motifs - even if I thought they didn't develop them really well.
Very nice cover art, though. I was sure they were gonna sc**p that fantastic poster art and go with floating heads or an "action-y" cover, but I'm glad they stuck with it.

Movies like "Gran Torino" and "Sunshine" and even this one deserved to be made because they were such worthy endeavors and made such profound comments on today's society with totally original plots, not to mention they were thouroughly entertaining...give it a break, like I said before the movie was decent enough for pay tv, but as far as being released in theaters...I think not, and I certainly won't be owning a copy of this tripe to set next to classics like Alien, Blade Runner or even the original Dune (which I like nowhere near the Sci-Fi Channel remake). Superb film. Superb acting. Superb directing. Why mince words. This film was also one of the few thought provoking movies of the year. Also, how many Sci-Fi movies really push the envelope. I also really loved the homage to Kubrick.
Truly one of THE best movies made this year if not this decade. First day buy and a fine addition to the collection.

Great film!!! What a summer filled with epic Science Fiction films! Another one of my favorite movies of the summer/ year. Fantastic cover art too.

This was a well acted, thought provoking drama made with minimal budget and minimal to no CG. I don't see many films like this being made today (or in the past decade for that matter) and I certainly don't see any comparison to the dreck SyFy shows on a daily basis.
