More Tartan Blu-ray (UK - BD RB)
Tartan Video announces their Blu-ray line-up for the forthcoming few months
Title: More Tartan Blu-ray
Starring: Various
SRP: £24.99
Further Details:
Tartan Video has announced the release of their next wave of Blu-ray titles, starting on the 14th of April with A Tale of Two Sisters, and followed on the 28th by Paranoid Park. The big news for Park Chan-wook fans is that both Lady Vengeance and I'm a Cyborg will see the light of day on the 26th of May. Bringing up the rear on the 26th of June will be The Proposition and Sky Blue. All titles will retail for around £24.99. Future Blu-ray releases will include the English-language version of Funny Games (starring Naomi Watts) and P2, along with titles from Tartan's catalogue. Personally I hope to see Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Save the Green Planet and Battle Royale on BD soon! We'll bring you complete details for these titles when they are available, so check back soon.

i have a tartan dvd, Pumpkinhead, Lance! that i`d like
Wha? Battle Royale? So after all this time their might be a really good version of it? Awesome. I'll wait for a review though. I've been burnt enough with it already.
Battle Royale hasn't been announced.
There are loads of decent Battle Royal DVDs. Just not in Australia (which sucks) or America (which never strangely has had a release).
The UK has two decent versions and Korea has decent versions too. All have English subs on the movie and the UK DVDs English subs for the extras too.

Man, I would love to see Natural City on blu.
Okay Tartan, let's get a few things straight here:
1. NO c**p looking transfers, interlaced DVDs were bad enough but this is HD!
2. NO saddling the HD release with a 2nd DVD disc, as you've done with Oldboy and Black Books. 'Future-proof' isn't packing a poxy DVD with the HD version and charging £30.00
3. Get it right 1st tme, no 5 versions of Battle Royale, please.
4. NO slew of Asian horrors.
5. Hurry the f**k up!!
P.S. Where the F**K is Bloody Mallory and Bittersweet Life Dir Cut, on ANY format?

I thought I was the only one who noticed this! haha I've posted on a few forums about the issue and no one seems to have noticed. It's weird, all their planned releases for the past 3 months are marked "unavailable" and all their future releases have been marked "release date unknown" hmm...

Yay, a Tale of 2 Sisters HD!
. When I go blu ray (in a loooong while), it'll be one of the first releases I will pick up.
You lucky brits.

In reference to the US arm of Tartan, Paul Spurrier, who made the Thai horror film "P", said this about Tartan:
"The last I heard was in early January, when I was told that Tartan were in financial difficulty, were laying off staff, had postponed the release [of "P"], and were unsure whether they could meet their contractual obligations."
Then Todd Brown from Twitchfilm responded with this last month:
"I was actually talking to one of Tartan's buyers yesterday. We didn't get into this film specifically but they're back on more solid financial ground, they had to do a bit of restructuring and refinance some stuff but that's all done now and they're moving along with things and out shopping for more new titles, so they're still up and running ..."

Title? If you mean the RB thing it's because it's a UK release and I don't post region status until it's confirmed, regardless of past history.

WTF has it got to do with you? He raised a point, I provided an explanation. I'm perfectly relaxed 'mate'.
Case in point - you need to chill the "f" out - you've got a snide tone and can't take a joke.
it's embarrassing, frankly. Mate

The info is half way down the page. I cannot post a direct link as they'll really long and it's confusing the comments system.

Really? That is surprising.
Then again it's not like Tartan gave released many UK DVDs lately and for the most part the USA releases (without the annoying NTSC to PAL transfers on DVD) follow the UK ones.

Thanks for that update Vincent. Maybe Tartan initially bit too much off opening American arm too. I bet their contract with DTS costs them.

Fair enough then. I have seen it on Tartan reviews which have been confirmed to be Region Free too though
. I suppose if the reviewer isn't able to confirm then it's better to be safe and assume it's Region B but they could see it's likely to be Region Free I suppose.

Yawn. Go and troll somewhere else. Go buy Tai Seng DVDs as you clearly hate Tartan so much, because they produce better DVDs/BDs don't they?

You don't have a f**king clue do you, Alex? Only a muppet or a Tartan employee would stick up for their c**p UK DVDs. While certainly they have progressed over the last year or two, NTSC to PAL transfers are still creeping out. I WANT them to release Bloody Mallory AND the director's cut of A Bittersweet life even if it's on standard DVD, I wouldn't say that if I hated them.

Is that Funny Games movie straight to blu? Because it might as well.

I'll definitely pick up:
* The Proposition - It's fantastic.
I'll likely pick up:
* A Tale of Two Sisters
* Sympathy for Lady Vengeance - Any idea which cut this is?
Oh man I'd kill for Battle Royal on BD!
I cannot say I've ever heard of the rest. Are any of them any good?
p.s - Tartan don't use Region Coding
