Don't forget the Klassic Jade costume which is offered with both but only redeemable on PS3s.
Mortal Kombat 1 is one of the best video games movie to date. It did justice to the game for the first time ever. Remember watching this in theaters back Dubai. Was amazed by it.
But the sequel was one of the worst things ever. ALTHOUGH the Theatrical Preview was done amazingly and really pumped me up.
I have the BluRays of both movies.. got em for 2/$20 just last month. So got em for 10 bucks each.
I wouldn't get these but if a special edition comes out for Part 1. I am all game.

I know why there's so much hate for the second one:
Drastically different cinematography, really cheap effects, worse acting than its predecessor, cheesy representation of the animality, cheesy beyond all reason dialogue. James Remar was atrocious as Lord Rayden. Sandra Hess looked nothing like Bridgette Wilson's Sonya Blade. Chris Conrad as Johnny Cage and then dying right away was a major relief, though. The film would have been more dynamic had the original actors returned for that opening scene that picked up from the final scene of the first one.
Need I continue?

Just the first one for me. I didn't care too much for Annihilation. Annihilation would've been better if they had brought back Christopher Lambert as Rayden.
I never understood all the hate for Annihilation. Yes, I agree that they crammed wayyyy too many characters in it to give it a decent enough story in its running of under an hour and a half, and yeah Shao Kahn never should have removed his mask. But, I mean, the fights were just as awesome as the first, especially Sonya and Jax versus Cyrax and extermination squad and the techno was a notch up from the first. Will be getting both.
It would've been cool if they had put some sort of playable game on the disc. It's certainly possible.
Special features are included awesome never had the pleasure of seeing the Journey Begins but I've herd its good please be Rfree!
Well, I know where my tax refund is going...
pretty cool, id like to see space jam on blu ray
These have some nice artwork as well.
Effing FINALLY!!! I've put off buying the ancient non-anamorphic discs for what, about fourteen years now?
A bit sad that there is no commentary by Paul Anderson on the first film; would be quite interesting to hear his recollections of making the movie. Or at least a retrospective featurette and something about Video Game movies...say what you will but Mortal Kombat is certainly one of the best if not the best video game movie.
I agree, the sequel was awful but I loved the first one back in the day. They need better features though. These features are just to plug the game etc.,,
I hardly think these deserve Blu-ray releases, but with the hype of the new game, the new web series, and the possibility of a reboot film franchise, I saw this coming. The first one is a delicious guilty pleasure, but the sequel needs to be destroyed and forgotten.
Both cover arts kick a$$ though. :-D
