Tries too hard to be the next Groove Tube/Kentucky Fried Movie/Amazon Women on the Moon and at best elicits literally a couple chuckles, really not worth one's time.
this movie looked atrocious.

Also, is this movie the biggest misfire in the history of cinema?
I'm genuinely baffled that so many big names took part. Not even perverse curiosity could make me watch this.
While I have no interest in seeing it too (although, the Liev Schriber / Naomi Watts sketch sounds funny) I have to admit that at least it was an attempt at something different.

Except it wasn't. It was an attempt to emulate the style of the films mentioned in the post above, and it failed miserably.

True, but we haven't had anything like that in recent times. Producers don't accept "it was successful back then" as means of going ahead with a project.
Again, I have no interest in seeing it because I well believe it is terrible. I'm just saying I admire their attempt. It's like going to a house part only to find out that the host cremated the duck. It's a disappointment but, hey, thanks for trying.
By the way, have you seen it? How hideous are we talking here?

This was colossally disappointing. All the funniest jokes were in the trailers and the unfunny sketches dragged on forrrrrrever. The best one by far was the animated cat one by James Gunn that aired during the closing credits (although the Anna Farris/Chris Pratt one was really funny as well, mainly due to J.B. Smoove's part in it).
Horrible cover, but the movie wasn't too bad. You can read my review here - http://geektasticfilmreviews.blogspot.com/2013/...
I thought it was bad, especially the Pratt/Faris sketch. All of the funny bits were in the red band trailers.
It wasn't as terrible as everyone says it is. Lightyears better than s**tty parody comedies like Haunted House or probably the upcoming Scary Movie 5. The Liev Schriber / Naomi Watts skit was absolutely hilarious.
It's basically Family Guy humor, but Family Guy pulls it off better because of the cartoon format.

bobby cannavale? ...one of these things is not like the other.
Coming from a non-biased film reviewer (I watch all films with an open-mind and have no preconceived notions to the film I see), it wasn't as bad as the reviews lead you to believe, but not good either. I'd give it maybe a 4.5 out of 10. The funniest sketch was Kate Winslet and even Naomi Watt's was pretty good, but the others were pretty hit-and-miss, and the red band trailer really is funnier than the entire movie. The basketball skit was hilarious though. Might be crazy enough to pick this up just because of Winslet's skit.
If anyone's curious, how I'd rate it to other parody movies:
1. Airplane!
2. Scary Movie
3. Scary Movie 3
4. Scary Movie 4
5. Superhero Movie
6. A Haunted House
7. Date Movie
8. Movie 43
9. Epic Movie
10. Meet the Spartans
11. Disaster Movie

I wonder if the eone artwork will be better? (It could happen).
Whats so wrong with the artwork? I mean at least it gives credit where credits due. As for the movie? Absoulutely horrible, it just shows that sometimes creative freedom isnt always the best move. This movie gets the vulgarity down but the laughs just arent there. Its lame as sh$t. You can take a movie like Macgruber(very underrated) and see how it pushes the R rating yet still manages to be very funny.
