who would watch this? its beyond stupid
As far as quality kids films goes, this is up there with the best. Went to see this with my 7 year old daughter and found it quite moving towards the end. A pleasant surprise. Have this on BD already and it still hold up to repeat viewing. Enjoyed it more the the first film.
Then why click on a thread about it? *confused face*

Well the critics loved the hell out of it (and they usually despise run-of-the-mill kid movies), so maybe it's not that bad. But I agree with you. I really have ZERO interest in this movie.

That's quite a mouthful for just saying that it had been dumbed-down...

I don't know, the original title just seems so convoluted and that Universal changed the title just to make it more succinct and marketable. Same thing with "The Boat That Rocked" becoming "Pirate Radio" in the U.S.
I think it's more about marketing purposes than appeasing a certain U.S. demographic. I don't really understand the hate for this film, other than it was poorly marketed (as usual for Universal). It's harmless fun, more than what I can say passes for family films these days.

Too bad it wasn't called Nanny McPhee and the Big Bangs.

Presumably this was retitled Nanny McPhee Returns in America because funadamentalist Christians would have objected to the original title of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang...
...or maybe they didn't think that the title character's visage and the words Big Bang would have attracted an audience.

Does anyone actually want to buy this movie? Scratch that. Does anyone actually want to see this movie?
I actually missed this when it was in theaters, but no Combo?
