How was this show?  I never really watched, but I know that Carlton Cuse, one of the producers of Lost, was the creator of this.  Was it action and comedy?

It will never equal Miami Vice and Don Johnson has never found a project that could match the quality of Miami Vice.

It was just like Miami Vice without the edge.  It did the buddy cop thing just like Miami Vice, just in San Francisco.  It had a bit more comedy to it, but still had the serious undertones.  The later episodes started getting off track with the cameos.  It also held more of a serial approach than the episodic of Miami Vice.  For the most part, it was Miami Vice for the next generation without the music and cultural impact.  It is worth the watch, and I will be buying it.  Though the first season only had 8 episodes and Amazon is pre-selling it for $35.  That is ridiculous.  If it were the first 2 seasons, that would be a deal, but it is only 8 episodes.

2-disc? Nice. We need more 2-disc TV-on-DVD titles.

I liked the show.  I think it got better later on even though the first season was interesting to watch as the series got it's footing.  The humor is what makes the show.  If it was just a serious cop show, it would be forgettable.  The show had it's missteps like showing who Inger is instead of just making her someone that is talked about.
