Considering you can pick up the first edition for a couple of bucks, this release doesn't seem worth it. BD maybe?
Pass
Perhaps this will be called the Neidermeyer is a sneeky s**t edition...
Dean Vernon Wormer: Greg, what is the worst fraternity on this campus?
Greg Marmalard: Well that would be hard to say, sir. They're each outstanding in their own way.
Dean Vernon Wormer: Cut the horses**t, son. I've got their disciplinary files right here. Who dropped a whole truckload of fizzies into the swim meet? Who delivered the medical school cadavers to the alumni dinner? Every Halloween, the trees are filled with underwear. Every spring, the toilets explode.
Greg Marmalard: You're talking about Delta, sir.
Dean Vernon Wormer: Of course I'm talking about Delta, you TWERP!

Might get it.
Nothing new here. The only thing that would get an extra purchase out of me is if it has some serious swag with it, which doesn't appear to be the case. A commentary would have been nice.

Waiting for Blu-ray... not interested whatsoever in this one.
I'm surprised they don't release a Zero...Point...Zero Edition to cash in on all the recent talk on the Stern show.
Oh you Universal b@st@rds!!! First make the 1998 version OOP and call it "highly collectible", then give us the 2003 25th anniversary 'Double Secret Probation Edition'...now THIS?! 'Scene It' games?! A 'Delta Yearbook' as part of the gift set?! For the record the original 'Yearbook Documentary' is now 10 years old!!! What's next, a 35th anniversary version of Jaws in 2010?!
Here's the way I would have done it...
Keep the original stuff but ADD the following:
-A John Belushi tribute retrospective
-A John Vernon tribute retrospective
-COMPLETE Home Movies taken during the filming (clips of which were included in the 'Yearbook: An Animal House Reunion' doc)
-Audio Commentary from The Deltas: Stephen "Flounder" Furst, Tim "Otter" Matheson, Peter "Boon" Riegert, James "Hoover" Widdowes, and Bruce "D-Day" McGil.
-Audio Commentary from The Faber Women: Karen "Katy" Allen, Martha "Babs" Smith, and Verna "Mrs. Wormer" Bloom.
-Audio Commentary from The Omegas: Mark "Neidermeier" Metcalfe, James "Marmalard" Daughton, and Kevin "Chip" Bacon.
-Introduction to the film from director John Landis
-Deleted scenes including a cameo appearance with John Landis playing a cafeteria worker, Otter's date with a co-ed (played by the late Sunny Johnson), Flounder taking Bluto's advice to "start drinking heavily", and the post-trip to Dickinson scene where Otter utters the line (only heard in the end song 'Animal House' ) "We can do anything we want! We're college students!"

What he said
Thank you 'dvdtakeaway'! I'd even go so far as to locate the pilot episode of the spin-off series 'Delta House' from 1979!
Pass.
What they should of called this release th 20th anniversary of the 10th anniversary
Considering I don't have this on DVD yet and I would like to have that yearbook collectible, I'll pick up this release. Everyone else seems pissed off about this because it is the same as the prior release but for people like me who don't have it yet and don't want to track down the older editions, this is perfect.
Artwork added
Garbage. "Hey lets release the same movie every 5 years and add nothing new, jerk offs will buy it!" Sad. But true.
Oh and track down? Have you not heard of AMAZON.com?
Oh and track down? Have you not heard of AMAZON.com?
might as well get it.
yet to own it for some reason.
yet to own it for some reason.
I agree with all the ones saying what features this should have. My big question is, are the deleted scenes even still available? I know sometimes older movies they lose the cut footage or some cases they cant find the audio elements
I'll probably finally buy this movie now since it doesn't have that embarrassingly horrendous "Super Secret Probation Edition" title. I hate those. I had to hunt down the old version of Airplane on eBay because I could not in good conscious buy anything titled "The Don't Call Me Shirley Edition".
I'm pretty sure this is supposed to include an A&E special that's not listed on here.
ANOTHER ONE? Double Dips at their best
Dude, everyone chill out. Yes, this edition seems uneccesary but if you've already got the last special edition, then just know that this one isn't meant for you and leave it at that. Clearly, the new features on this version aren't worth the upgrade. However, if you don't own the movie already, now's your chance.
they should have made the artwork w/ the cartoon-animated movie poster
I prefer this artwork to the last release.

Wow!!!! Why Universal doesn't employ you Mr_Flix_1983 is beyond me.....Oh wait, your way would lead to more sales and more taxes for the big corporation on Home Video department employees to pay. I sense a future with smaller bonus checks at Universal Home Video.....
