What a wasted release. I can't see picking this up without at least some of the extras from the two-disc Anchor Bay release included.

that cover makes it looks like some recent DTV / CW kids filled movie. lol
Same lousy "Twilight" artwork as the UK version - probably the same transfer, too.

I can see where you'd think that given the look of cover artwork. But no, it's not. This is Kathryn Bigelow's '87 cult masterpiece of a modern vampire tale with a twist (the word 'vampire' is never mentioned anytime within the story and the conventions of the genre are subverted beautifully). It's worth seeing, if you haven't taken it in. But, I agree with Matt. If it doesn't have any of the extras from the two-disc, rent this.

"Near-dark" is not so much a title as more a description of the black levels on the transfer, if it uses the same materials as the UK Blu-ray edition.

This movie was c**p when it first came out. Bad performances, bad direction, bad, bad waste of time movie.
Please don't waste your money or your time.
You can't put lipstick on a pig.
There is a reason they are making it look like the much better 'Twilight'.
They are trying to make every dollar they can get off this c**p movie.
