Optimum Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Night of the Living Dead for the 29th of September, priced at around £19.99. A list of confirmed specs for the release can be found below, along with a few menus and the artwork. It's worth noting that the check disc we received mistakenly had a twenty-something minute version of the Romero documentary included. Optimum assure us this will be fixed for the retail release.

Was it shot 16mm or 35mm? I'm too lazy to look.
If that's the ONLY extra available, when every decent DVD version is 2 discs, then that is a joke.

Shot with 35mm--when they considered briefly shooting in color they nixed the idea in part because it would have meant they would have had to shoot the film in 16mm to help offset the cost of color film.

I think you guys are mixing up your movies/dvds. I don't know of any NOTLD releases that are two-discs except for the horrid 30th Anniversary edition and some c**p-ass bootleg floating on Amazon. And the "One for the Fire" documentary is about NOTLD, not Diary of the Dead. The doc on Diary was called "For the Record" on the R1 release. The UK release of Diary seems to replace that with a Romero-career doc.

Ah well, it could at least 'technically' look better on BD then. The Seventh Seal looked a lot better than the DVD. Makes me laugh to think of so many different retail copies of a public domain movie though.

I know that the document is about NotLD, but IT IS on limited editin r2 2 disc set - how do I know, I own it and I have watched it on it. I do not own any version of NotLD...
