" But it was nice to see that "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"'s Mia Sara is still kicking around - she plays the woman who asks William Hurt for a piece of gum on the plane... "
you don't watch 24 much, do ya?

The first episode was really boring. I expected something more like the Zuni doll story from Richard Matheson. The second story would have been better if it was shorter.
These looked interesting, especially with William Hurt and Bill Macey. Might pick this one up, Stephen King's miniseries' are always interesting to watch, to say the least.

When put in the context of what Matt wrote, it turned away from griping. Nonetheless, they're putting out "Autopsy Room 4" in a few weeks, which should be interesting to watch, and that was culled from "Everything's Eventual". So "Battleground" isn't the only one from another book.
I was just joking.

The title for the series is taken from one of his anthology novels, but don't read too much into it as the stories for these episodes are taken from a few of his works and really doesn't mean to imply that they are from the one novel only. I'm just kind of bummed that 'The Myst' isn't going to be part of the series, but oh well. If the future episodes are anything like last night then we're in for a real treat.
Ah, gotcha. Neato - it wasn't really a gripe... Thanks!
But you said it was. What are you John Kerry!?! Flip-flopper!!!

I missed it. I only caught a few minutes of the second episode while watching the lame Blade series.

You are crazy. Battleground was great but the other one was not too good.

TNT basically purchased the rights to all of the King short stories that aren't owned by other companies. If this miniseries does well this summer, the long term plan is to do 8 or more stories every summer from here on out.
As for The Mist, Frank Darabont owns the rights to that (as well as The Long Walk) and is working on getting it made as a feature film.

I'm already a big fan. Can't wait for next week's episodes - and I will definitely be picking this one up. Just one gripe, however - the story for "Battleground", the episode with William Hurt, was originally in the "Night Shift" collection, not "Nightmares & Dreamscapes". Weird.
