Quote: f it moves, smash it! The filmmakers behind The Matrix and V for Vendetta bring new blood (lots of it!) to martial arts movies in Ninja Assassin. Korean pop star Rain (Speed Racer) stars as heroic, deadly Raizo. Trained from childhood in the way of the Ozunu Clan ninja, he is stalked by fellow warriors for breaking free of them and their iron-willed dojo patriarch (martial arts legend Sho Kosugi)…and is on the run with a Europol agent (Naomie Harris) who has proof the clan sells assassination services to governments. The action is start-to-finish – fast, fierce, filled with weaponry (chains, swords, staffs, shuriken) and awesome athleticism. Fear not the weapon, but the hand that wields it.

Still haven't seen it yet.....missed it at the cinemas (although I don't think it made it down under)...
I guess I'll be in the minority, as I actually like the cover art. Definite Blu-ray purchase for me, not just for the exclusive features but because a lot of the fight scenes (especially the final one)are incredibly beautiful.
Oh, and to shamelessly plug my blog (Film Foxhole - in my sig below), I wrote a review of this flick back when it was in theaters, in case anyone is on the fence. Basically, my conclusion is: it is titled "Ninja Assassin." You get what you should expect, and nothing more.

I think he's referring to the whole Lena Wachowski thing.

Fun action film and nothing more. Brilliant use of the traditional ninja weapon known as the kusarigama I believe. As a student of the art of Ninjutsu this film is utterly bs. I did find the kusarigama action scenes very entertaining though. The CGI was used well. Unfortunately I found this film as a let down. The world still needs a perfect ninja film.
Still credited as Larry Wachowski, I see.
This movie was so freakin' awesome!! At least they used the original poster artwork for the Blu-ray and DVD releases. Day one Blu-ray purchase for me!!
Hang on, after whinging about companies not using the poster art, they DO use the poster art and the OCD patrol still whinge about it.
i was very surprised i liked it alot, alot more blood than i thought would be in the movie, definate buy for me
Anyone reading this far will note the consensus opinion of Ninja Assassin is that it is "fun but stupid". Couldn't agree more! I'll grab a copy, I'm sure.
Was curious about this movie, when it was out in theaters, but ultimately passed on it. Might be hard to pass this up on release day. I really need to see a cool ninja movie on Blu-ray!
Fun but cheesy movie. I probably will purchase.
I'll definitely rent this one because it looked like a fun, cheesy action movie. I don't expect much in terms of acting and story, so I shouldn't be disappointed. Although I didn't go to the cinema to see the film, because here's my logic. I think fun, mindless films are movies that you pay no less than five dollars for. The real films that stand out or the ones that look original, should be the ones you spend your big bucks on. I however, do like the Blu-ray/DVD combo. Very awesome.
I know this is off-topic, but I'm afraid Blu-ray buyers are going to suffer the same as DVD buyers. When I was checking Amazon the other day, I found Princess on the Frog, on Blu-ray, with two different Blu-ray editions. To make sure it wasn't just an exception, Old Dogs also has two Blu-ray editions. Have studios learned anything from this? They're apparently starting the trend with 2012. I'm sick of it. The worst part is that they're charging us MORE for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack then what we'd originally pay. Then the dumbed down Blu-ray release will be the same price we pay. Those b*****ds!

C**ppy cover art trying to be like a mixture of 300 and Transformers.
I never actually saw this movie. Wanted to but I wasn't going to pay to see this in theaters. Looked really good. Will get it off of Netflix.

don't feel bad, there are MANY movies i like more than Avatar. you're ok.
I loved Avatar, are you kidding? But don't take it too personally, I have to admit though that it was a very long movie. I thought WTWTA, Up, Star Trek and HP6 were better.

Horrible art cover, but i want to watch this movie!
The movie was OK, but Michael Dudikoff isn't losing any sleep because of it.
Such a guilty pleasure. The story is aa dumb as they get, but oh it was such a joy to watch. Will be purchasing.

Thank you Stephen Colbert.
Thank you Stephen Colbert.
It was dumb as story-wise goes, but it was mad fun to seat through. A lot of fighting scenes are jaw dropping.
This was one of the most fun and surprising film experiences I had last year. A definite Blu purchase for me.
