I liked this movie quite a bit; will probably end up picking it up on day 1.

Caught this one in the theater twice. Really a touching story and nice visuals. Even a few subtle references to Beatles songs. Quite an enjoyable look at John pre-Beatles. I think if one were to have a "proper" 'evolution of The Beatles' movie marathon, it would go something like this:
Nowhere Boy (2010)
Backbeat (1994)
I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978)
A Hard Day's Night (1964)
HELP! (1965)
Magical Mystery Tour (1967)
Let It Be (1970)
Two Of Us (2000)

I bought this on 1st day release in UK. Well worth the money.
Great Direction and great acting, with great actors, Film leads to where BackBeat would start. Worth Buying

Nice list Mr_Flix_1983
Definitely blind buying this.
Definitely blind buying this.
The performances are all stellar and since I didn't know much about Lennon's life at that point, I didn't predict anything. There are still moments that are a bit cliched and seemingly unnatural, but the film is definitely convincing and full of heart. It hardly felt like an hour and a half when the film was over. I'm not interested in buying it, though.
