Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD ($29.99), 1-disc Blu-ray ($39.99), and 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($44.99) releases of Old Dogs for the 9th March. The only extra material on the DVD release will be a commentary by the film’s director Walt Becker, producer Andrew Panay, and writers David Diamond and David Weissman, deleted scenes, and bloopers. The 1-disc Blu-ray will include that, along with an “Every Little Step” music video performed by John Travolta and Ella Bleu Travolta. The 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD will include all of the above plus a Young Dogs Learn Old Tricks featurette, a “You’ve Been A Friend To Me” music video by Bryan Adams, and a digital copy of the film. This truly was awful. I mean i hated it. Not that it matters but it kinda has a sad undercurrent. Tavoltas son died a year before its release and the late bernie mac showed up. Still an awful movie
I really was use to those Blu-Ray/DVD Combos. Disney better not make this a habit releasing Blu-Rays separately, one edition just being the Blu-Ray and the other being the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo, and then eventually get Pixar to follow it up with "Toy Story 3." That's just a good way to cheat on money and I actually like those combo packs. 1. HD set up on one TV. 2. Regular setups anywhere else. 3. Portable setup to take on vacation. No big deal.
This movie however was the most demented excuse for a Disney comedy. Definitely pass on that one.

Fun for the family who need one more reason to be pushed over the edge....
Looks like Disney has decided on a new strategy which really screws dvd only folks. They've switched from a single dvd, double dvd (with a premium price for those who like bonus features) & a blu ray/dvd combo pack to a single blu ray, blu ray/dvd combo pack (with a premium price for those who like bonus features & the dvd too), & a lone single dvd release (so dvd has no way to get SE features). I'd bet this is how all new releases will be handled. IT BLOWS. I love the blu ray/dvd combo pack & they won't be as affordable as before. Of course I don't give a rat's ass about the Old Dogs release as it is a turd of a movie.
Then basically all the studios will then follow up to Disney. Oh jeez. That's a very high maintenance way to make a lot of money just for these home video releases. I'm not buying anymore Disney movies if they keep doing it. And if more studios keep doing it, then they will lose a customer right here.
