Are we thinking of the same movie? I wouldn't call it "very funny" by any stretch of the imagination. It is heartbreaking and tragic.

Great movie... but... a deck of cards..?
Yeah the cover and design looks very good, very clean and has a slight retro feel to it. This film certainly deserves the praise heaped on it, I love Jack and the great ensemble cast but for me Louise Fletcher is the standout. A great performance, you really don't like her character so as an actor she did her job.

Wow... so insightful how you, against all odds, were able to strategically ad rationally convince me that the longheld critical and society-wide consensus were completely malformed. Kudos.
I believe Chris Burge must be a resident of an insane asylum and feels this movie is making fun of him.

Love the packaging, so clean, you don't see that enough anymore. I just wish the blu-ray didn't have the blue stripe across the top, it just takes away from it. They do that with everything now a days. The discs might be "superior" on blu, but DVD still has the better packaging in my opinion. Just look at TV show sets.
Buying this day one. The scene with Brad Dourif at the end gets to me every time.
love the movie, but i'll just stick with the 2 disc special edition DVD i got a while ago
Since I havent bought this yet. I will be getting this edition.
I LOVE this movie. One of the few classics u can agree with. The ending stays with me, i keep thinking about it long after its over. I do have the current bluray book edition and that may be fine with me. I'll wait and see what the reviews for it say about it.

I'll stick with my plain jane single-disc Blu-Ray release. I love the film and I definitely love the Blu-Ray, but I don't want all that extra junk. A handful of lobby cards, a deck of playing cards, and a little production book does nothing to enhance my enjoyment of said film.
Honestly, I don't even like the Blu-Ray "book" design of the original release. I guess some film fans get off on that kitschy nonsense, but I just want the film in a standard Blu-Ray case.

I LOVE the cover art. I already own the standard edition but this is such a masterpeice, I have to double dip.
That's a beautiful looking box. I'll pass on it though. Might pick it up on Blu sometime down the line, but I'm happy with my DVD for now.
awful movie. pass
