Quote: From the makers of Coraline comes the story of Norman, a boy who must use his ability to see and speak with the dead to save his town from a centuries-old curse. In addition to spooky zombies, he’ll also have to take on mysterious ghosts, wily witches and, worst, of all, clueless grown-ups. But this young ghoul whisperer will soon find his paranormal abilities pushed to their otherworldly limits. Featuring the voice talents of Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Casey Affleck, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin and John Goodman, it’s a frightfully funny and magically thrilling adventure for the whole family in eye-popping stop-motion 3D.

Either this should have been released to theaters in October or released on DVD in time for Halloween. Who wants to watch a movie like this in August or November? It's like releasing a Chrismas movie in February. I will buy the DVD next year in October when it's a lot cheaper and it's the right time of year to watch it.

Unfortunately, I read that this cost around 83 million so technically it did bomb.
bombing = not making profit. If it cost 83 mill to make and made 86 mill in the box office (3 million profit), there's nothing technical about it, it didn't bomb
(Dredd 22 million worldwide gross / 50 million budget? That did bomb .... even though it was good)

Unfortunetly, I read that this cost around 83 million so technically it did bomb.

I'll buy it on release day.

It's more for adults than kids though, there are a couple parts that were a little sketchy so I didn't bring my young daughter. Must buy on day one for me!
You went to see a "kids" film twice without your daughter? Just let her enjoy the visuals, she won't get the more adult jokes anyway.
Nah, went with the wife first. My little girl's only 4, but on my second screening by myself a couple walked in with a two year old. Go figure!

This movie is pretty decent, but it's not as great as the hoopla surrounding it makes it to be. I'd give it a solid 3/5. "Coraline" was better, but this one wasn't bad.

Cover art is ok.. don't like that huge Blu-Ray, DVD & Digital Copy banner though, that's ugly as sin. This didn't bomb. It made $55 million ($86 WW), which is one of the highest grosses ever for a stop motion movie.
And they couldn't release it in October as Frankenweenie was already scheduled there. It would have done worse with that competition.
Anyway, this was brilliant and a must buy for me.

I've heard great things about it and I would've already seen it if they'd shown it with the original english dub at my local theater. Will definitely get this when it's released. As soon as it's released.
