Well I loved this film, including the ending. I'll definitely have to get an all-region player so I can get the R2 French version with 4(!) commentaries. I'm so sick of the R1 bare-bones editions. Is it just me or are movies (and those who buy them) treated with more respect in Europe?

More respect for movies in Europe? No, just in France, and occasionally the Germans will suddenly have a kick-ass edition of something, like Battle-royale, or, well, Perfume.
Problem is these are often without English subs. Now I can handle German, given enough time, but my French "est merde" (i.e. bad)!

German HDDVD. Has German and English DTS-HD sound tracks.

Lord, that artwork is tragic. The original poster was beautiful; BEAUTIFUL, d'ya hear me!! but... but... they had to cut it in half to put some floating star heads on the top. Tragic, I'm sayin'.
This got ugly reviews. I wonder if it's as bad as everyone says it is.
No wonder Tim Burton and Martin Scorsese turned their noses up at the script! I too wonder if its as bad everyone says it is.
