REALLY wish Anchor Bay was releasing this. Universal doesn't care about their catalog releases and usually releases them with little to no extras. Not to mention the recent Phantasm releases from AB had amazing packaging, this just has a stupid tagline and a bad photoshopped cover.
I think the cover looka awesome! Just to clarify, are we sure the film will have a 5.1 track or a mono track. Cuz that mistake has been made before.
Few years too late there Universal. Anyone who really wanted this in R1 land has imported the R2 Anchor Bay disc by now--or at least should have to save themselves from the wrath of The Tall Man.
From what I heard from a fellah that used to write here AB offered to buy it and Universal quoted them an astronomical price. Too bad.
on the one hand i'm so happy this is finally coming out so my phantasm collection will be complete......on the other hand. no extras, a mono track and a c**ppy cover? yeesh. what was wrong with the original poster? oh yeah, it was too professional looking and didn't look like a c**p photoshop dvd cover. you lucky uk b*****ds and your phantasm ball collectors set. why can't anchor bay just release every horror film on dvd?
Not much for special features. I'll stick with the DVD I already have.
I won't be buying this, even if I do want to have a complete Phantasm collection. Major studios need to realize that smaller companies such as Anchor Bay and Blue Underground do a lot better job with these films than they do. Why Universal would want such a high price for this film is beyond me, but Anchor Bay has already put out great editions of Phantasm, Phantasm III, and Phantasm IV. This is similar to how Universal won't give up the rights to Halloween II and III, when Anchor Bay already has Halloween, Halloween 4, and Halloween 5.
About time! Now I'll be crossing my fingers for a box set.
Booooooooooy!

That stupid tagline was on the original theatrical poster, so that's fine. But it is stupid
