Philadelphia Story (US - DVD R1)
We have some art for a special edition of the Cary Grant movie
Title: The Philadelphia Story
Starring: Cary Grant
Released: 1st March 2005
SRP: $26.99
Warner has kindly sent over artwork for a special edition of The Philadelphia Story which stars Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart. The two-disc release will be available to own from the 1st March next year, and should set you back somewhere in the region of $26.99. I'm afraid Warner has yet to release details on extra material, but we can tell you that the film will be presented in 1.37:1 along with an English Mono track. We'll bring you further details very shortly. For now though, here's the artwork:

All of Warner's two disc sets are slip out Digipaks. Only Goodfellas was in an Armary case for some reason. Just look at every other Warner two disc version (The Mission, One Upon A Time In America, Citizen Kane, Unforgiven, Amadeus, etc.)

Ah cool, love the cover.
Actually, the new Warner Brothers two-disc editions of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Goodfellas, Gothika, The Lost Boys, Purple Rain, The Shawshank Redemption, Strangers on a Train and the upcoming Heat and Chariots of Fire are all in keep-cases.
Another fine Warner Classics release I'm sure!
You gotta lovew the vintage-style cover art.
Just thought I would repeat the sentiments from my "Bringing Up Baby" post: Definitely a film that deserves a place in any serious film-buff's DVD collection. I can't wait to see what magic Warner has cast on the transfer of this classic. I hope this is a two-disc keepcase. I wish the studios would drop the use of digipaks along with the now deceased snappers. I would have preferred "Gone with The Wind" in four slim keepcases inside a nice slipcover like the "Futurama" and "Lost In Space" sets.
I'm such a prud. I never like to watch these "classic" movies because there so old. I need to get over that and give some of these a spin. I wont buy them however
