Piranha 3DD
incorporates the classic elements of the teen horror/exploitation movies of the 1970s, packed with ferocious flesheaters, scantily-clad young victims, and bizarre and exciting twists and turns. Whereas Piranha 3D took place on a lake, the 2012 sequel is set at a water park, complete with water slides and a lazy river – the perfect places for piranha mayhem! Back for more outrageous fun, Christopher Lloyd reprises his role as the eccentric piranha expert. After the terror unleashed on Lake Victoria in Piranha 3D, the prehistoric school of bloodthirsty piranhas are back and this time, no one is safe from the flesh-eating fish as they sink their razor-sharp teeth into the visitors of summer’s best attraction, The Big Wet Water Park. First one was a bit of fun and the next more over the top - didn't expect much from the sequel so not too disappointing there.
A z-grade horror?
Count me in!

Piranha 3DD is not nearly as abysmal as its instantaneous backlash, but it's barely serviceable. Yes you've heard the absence of gore/violence, the over-excess load on T+A, and the laughably bad cameos, but the biggest problem with the film is that it's icy cold. Stylistically, it's not even that grand (it's set at an amateur waterpark and then the rest of the film takes place in nowhereland; it also recycles scenes from the previous movie), but that's all it has going for it: in short, nothing. I would tell you to avoid it but you probably had that suspicious curiosity like I had imposed on myself, so see it because you'll always want to know how it turned out. If it helps, I'd give it a 2/5. By the way, the 3D, while shot on film, looks even worse than its predecessor's converted 3D. It doesn't pop as much as it should, it drowns the color scheme, and it looks a lot better viewed in HD with non-3D.

though i'm sure it'll be worth a watch on netflix or whatever. i wouldnt buy the original and the first 45ish mins are kinda c**ppy but that final chunk was pretty crazy ass cool. so if this has that same sorta "finale" then should be a fun one time watch. lol
and hey....The Hoff? well you gotta!!
Bouncy X, if you're looking forward to the iconic grand finale, and you even though the first half of Piranha 3D sucked, please avoid this film like the plague. You will be impeccably disappointed. The finale has no real deaths like the first one and they sacrifice tension for complete full-out laughs, which aren't even that great. If I had a dime for every time I laughed, I'd have a nickel. The first 45 minutes, you can forget it. It's just boobs, ass, and vagina. Just like the first except this time it's almost pornographic. I'd give it a 2/5, but you, you'd probably give it like a 0.5/5 lol

Well played, Mr. Powers.
My thoughts exactly.
I'm a resident of Wilmington, NC...but I lost every shred of interest in this sequel when it was decided that Alexandre Aja would not be involved.

I actually enjoyed this a lot. Definitely not as good as the first, but still a fun "check your brain at the door" kinda horror flick. lol I'll probably pick this up previously viewed....or in a bargain bin down the road.
