That would be fine with me, as long as the window of opportuniity is left open for another Pirates Trilogy! Um, ARRRG!
Mr.Badass wrote: It's good but the plot is just boring, Captain Jack isn't Captain Jack, the funny thing about the first was how Captain Jack was so obviously gay and in the second he is as straight as a ruler.
besides that, it was a good film
I never saw him as gay, just a little weird. I guess if a viewer wanted to think he was gay, they could see it, but I dont think that was the intent from Depp. I saw him more flirtatious with Keira's character than Orlando's. Being a little weird and flamboyant does not make him gay. I guess we all may have seen it as different. That is just my 2cents there.
I remember reading an interview with Johnny Depp that his two influences in creating the Jack Sparrow character were Keith Richards and a drag queen. I don't think his character is gay at all - just a wacky and flamboyant pirate.

This film is so overrated, it's not funny at all, it's just got good special effects and that's it, nothing more. I fell asleep.
Michael C, you are seriously in the minority on your opinion, but none the less we all have them.
I am a bit disappointed with this DVD release. The first movie's DVD release is still one of the best two-disk releases out there. They are definitely holding back here for a mega release of all three films. But like a sheep, I will flock and get the 2 disk version.

Same here, I have no patience to wait for a Multi Box set.

Summed up my thoughts perfectly.

Nice art. I'll be going with the two disc, but why couldn't they have just released the 2 disc at a lower price like disney did with the first?
It'll be interesting t revisit this, wasn't that big a fan in theatres.
Best movie of the summer. AMAZING SCORE BY HANS ZIMMER. A must buy, cannot wait!.
I was kinda disappointed with this one, I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't half as good as the first one, I hope that the final installment will be better.
I just felt that they tried to cram to much into one movie, and not everything worked.

can't wait for the next one
I enjoyed it, but I didn't think it was good enough to warrant a $400 million dollar gross. Fun? Yes. Exciting? Yes. Funny? Yes. Best movie of the summer? Eh... no. (That honor would go to "Superman Returns", I think POTC 2 is overrated.)
Yes it is overrated. Superman Returns should be the movie on that spot.
Superman Returns is definetely the best movie of 2006 and I can't wait for that DVD so I can see it again and again...

Wow, I'm surprised that this is coming out so soon. But I am excited about this release. I was impressed with the amazing visual effects, and even the decent story. I hope the featurettes are worth a 2-disc release.

*thumbs up*
There are so many better movies that came out this year that are better than Pirates... like United 93, Brick, V for Vendetta, Clerks IIand of coarse, Superman Returns.

Couldn't agree with you more. I wept when I left the theater. Because I loved the first film so much. Still, I'll be first in line to see #3. But I sure as hell won't be buying this.

Well, I loved the first film, I saw the 2nd at the midnight showing and fell a sleep that half hour. So would like to see it again on DVD. I thought the first have hour was a mess trying to figure out a story line, then we get the to be continued which kind of pissed me off. Was a fin popcorn flick.
Superman was ALOT better then this. For some reason this movie had a huge TEEN appeal to it.

Actually, I thought that this was better than Superman Returns. Yes, the ending of Pirates 2 was a little annoying in that it was only setting us up for the third, but man, Superman Returns was supposed to be an action film. It failed in that aspect.

Tell me, where did it say it was supposed to be an action film... Or have loads of action in it? It was a human drama, a great one, with a few spectacular action sequences sprinkled on top. Dead Man's Chest was so full of action, it got repeatative and extremely boring in some parts. It's really dumb that Superman is worse because it has less action. It does, but it's for the better.

Woah woah woah, calm down. Yes, Superman Returns is supposed to be an action film. Who wouldn't go into a superhero movie expecting great action sequences throughout? Not only did the action fail to impress but the acting did as well. Sure Superman Returns can have drama, but it should ultimately be an action film, and it DID fail in that aspect.

I'm calm, just extremely dissagreeing. No one said Superman would have action packed film. It was supposed to be like Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins. Both had a small amount of action and were great, as was Superman Returns. You obviously do not understand one bit. Just because he has these amazing powers, doesn't mean it HAD to be an action based film. Superman is more than just his powers, the film was trying to show his human side, it succeeded. There was plenty of action: Plane Sequence, Bank Robbery, Action Comics scene, Daily Planet Glode, Beating on NK, New Krypton rising, Superman chucking you know what into space etc. That is more than enough for me. Would I have been upset if there was more? No. Would I like to see more now that I know more about Superman's fuman side? Yes. This is why X-Men 3 failed miserably, it has too much action, so much, that it got boring, similar to this. Both X-Men and Pirates failed as a whole.

Superman Returns was awful. Kate Bosworth sucked as Lois Lane, and they brought in that whole subplot with Lois Lanes child being , well you know (Didn't want to spoil it). The ending was just lame, just because it goes against one of Supermans biggest rules (hint : Kryptonite does what? ). Also, Brandon Routh was a horrible Superman, I wanted Tom Welling.
So Disney should annouce this officialy today, me hearties, hopefully they'll give it good treatment or we'll make them walk the plank arrgh
Final specs added me harties!
According to hmv.co.uk it's out on R2, Nov 20
Argh! Anyone be talking like a Pirate yet?!
Or are we all waiting until it comes out...? ;-)

yes we are talking like pirates, me heartie, can't wait to get me hands on that booty on November 20th

Anyway, definitely looking forward to this release. It sucks for the Blu-ray people that Disney isn't putting this on that format for at least a year.
