Total rehash of the first Predator but I really liked it anyway. It was just good to see The Predator in a good movie after AvP. I can stomach AvP1 more than the horrible AvP2 and I thought Predator 2 was a good effort but not as good as the first.
This movie was so intense and awesome!! Day one Blu-ray purchase for me!!

wow, the dvd has a terrible cover but the exact thing i was expecting for the blu-ray as well. glad they didnt go that route.

Kinda figured that, I hadn't seen the original in some time. Still, would have preferred they just use the score though.

Was anyone else shocked by the totally out of place end credits song for this film? Honestly, the film's tone was awesome and bad ass and then I just remember being like, "wtf?" when it went to the credits. I don't understand why they didn't use Brian Tyler's excellent score and kept the ball rollin'.

I liked the movie- better than the two AvP films. Too bad the deleted and extended scenes aren't on the DVD too.

Really good Predators film. So much better than AVP (I skipped AVP2). Obviously not as good as Predator but easily better than Predator 2.
mediocre all the way
I liked the movie a lot.
I was hoping for some sort of "Predator Trilogy" box set at first. But I wouldn't get it if it included The Ultimate Hunter Edition of the first movie. I guess it would be too much to ask for a third Blu-ray of the original movie, done right though.

The cover art is indeed awesome, but the movie... Just fine.
The film was down and dirty, delivering the goods and then getting out. This and Piranha 3D are the two summer films that delivered exactly what they promised, nothing more or less. If only every movie would deliver on their promise there would be a lot more movies worth seeing.
It bugs the hell outta me that companies still are releasing dvds and blurays separately... I definitely enjoyed this flik and want to own it, but bluray is still too obscure a thing for the people around me, so dvd it is
Everyone who's saying this movie was bad is a dope because it wasn't. People fail to realize that this was a movie trying to be a good sequel and giving life back to the franchise as well. The performances were fine. Some of the action sequences were great and even though there was a few stuff from the original in it, it's hardly a carbon copy. People fail to realize they were homages to the original movie. Story's different, end is different, and the characters are different. The formula is a bit same but it's a different movie and those are being tools saying this movie is a copy of the original have no idea what they are talking about.
Awesome cover, too bad the movie wasn't really that good. I would probably get it for $10 or less just to have a whole set (minus Predator 2 because no collection deserves that c**p).
For a sequel, this was REALLY good. As for a movie, it was pretty decent. Just a good movie overall. Fine performances, a strong script, some awesome carnage, and a great climax make this film a recommendation. Although, the movie's major flaw was its pacing. The first thirty minutes were pretty interesting. While nothing happened, it was very intriguing. However, the next forty minutes start to drag and there is so much unnecessary back story. That's fine, but it's repeated so much that it becomes redundant. Then, the last thirty minutes are just a blast. Some heart-pounding action mixed with a nice twist, makes the climax a STRONG one. So, had the thirty minute mark to the one hour minute mark been interesting, this movie would have been better. Still, I actually enjoyed. And I had moderate expectations and those were met and slightly exceeded. Not sure about a Blu-ray purchase though.
I missed it in theatres, it did get SOME good reviews though. I will rent it. I like the all black bluray cover BUT i wonder if its too good to be true. If they will change it last minute. I agree too, u'd think this would come unrated. Remember AVP had a couple dvds though
Awesome looking art work. Will be buying.

I'm a fan of Predator but not a fan of this movie. Still, leaving the theater 20 mins b4 the movie ends is such a wasteful act, man (no offense there). I mean, you did pay for that right? So, you should've put your money to good use and watch the movie till it ends so that even if you hate the movie you'll have clear idea what was it ALL about.
Oh, yeah, very nice artwork. I'm happy that there's no floating heads there. I'm a sucker 4 anything Predator so I know I'll be buying this.

but considering the sorta movie this is, surprised they didnt release an unrated or director's cut. seems like the sorta movie that would get one unless they're saving that for a double dip.
I seem to recall an interview in either SFX or Empire where the director, Antal, said something along the lines of, "They're letting me shoot a load more stuff for the unrated DVD," so, unless that's gone by the wayside, it would seem a double-dip is in our futures....

Well at least The DVD is almost equal to the Blu for Special features.

Cool cover for a boring film.
