This looked great, although the plot appears to be very similar to "We Own the Night".  I'll blind-buy the blu-ray for sure, though.

Now, now... Let's not be so bitter and ungrateful. Of course the 1-disc includes extra features: as mentioned before, it contains BOTH the widescreen AND the full-frame presentation of the film. Hey, that's something, right? And I bet the disc even comes with some gorgeous art silkscreened on, which, as some studios have so gracefully taught us in the past, is an extra feature in itself.

Come on, guys! Let's celebrate! This edition is carefully crafted by fans for the fans! They are movie buffs, just like us! Really! Just read any chat with their crew! They LOVE us, man! They live to please us. And it's not just because they are getting our money, no. This, for them, is a labor of love.

I'm telling you, this is gonna be huge!

I know the studios, and they have never disappointed me. Not once.

Well, it says "comprehensive documentary", so surely it will be that, no reason to doubt.

The only thing missing here that I wish they had included is a nice, big critic's recommendation blurb on the front. I know, I know, it's there on the back, but you have to agree it's not the same (and, quite frankly, it could have been bigger)... This way, unless you turned the case when at the store, you may miss it and, not knowing the movie is good because someone told you so, skip on it.

No big deal, but a somewhat careless oversight on the studio's part marring what otherwise looks like one of the most extensive DVD special editions since the ULTIMATE MATRIX TRILOGY.

As for the single disc edition, I am seriously considering buying that, too, if only to have BOTH the widescreen AND the full-screen versions on the same disc! I didn't even know that was possible! Wow, isn't digital technology awesome? I'm glad to see the studios taking full advantage of it.

Wow, now that got me! I'll buy that ASAP! Because, you know, who wouldn't want an exciting digital copy to play in your computer or, even better, on the tiny screen of your iPhone, instead of your boring Home Cinema setup?

Because, that's what we all want when buying a film we liked in DVD, right? Not a superb audiovideo presentation or even thorough, interesting extra features, but a good digital copy.

And look how nicely that upper strip fits into the overall design of the front cover. I specially like how they made that DVD disc image into the "O" in "copy". Just classy.

Almost other-worldly boring...was there no editor on this picture?  It could have been at least 30 minutes shorter and told the exact same story.  

this had Jon Voight's best performance in quite some time (and he has been Phoning it in for years now).

I'll try and give this one a shot.

As is often the case with some of his films ( The Score, The Italian Job, the God-awful Death to Smoochy), Norton is the only reason this movie gets elevated above mediocre. He's truly compelling as an actor and one of the finest of his generation...but on the flipside, I thought Farrell's acting was awful. Does the man ever not slip into that Irish brogue?? Nothing shatters the illusion of acting more than a bad accent (or lack thereof)...and besides, he seems to play the same brooding "bad-ass" character in every film he does. The only thing I've seen him in recently that I like was In Bruges. Now In THAT film, he frickin' nailed the part brilliantly...

Didn't play long in my cinema either. I was looking forward to seeing it, I'm a fan of Farrells work. And also Norton. But those features are pretty pathetic, I will wait until it goes on sale, or if I can import it dirt cheap I might get it sooner.
