Quote: Three years ago, Donna (Brittany Snow, John Tucker Must Die) watched in horror as an obsessed predator (Johnathon Schaech, That Thing You Do!) murdered her family. Tonight is her senior prom and although she's anxious about the past, she's excited to celebrate her future with her friends. What Donna doesn't know is that the deranged psychopath has escaped from the asylum. He's returned to hunt her down, intent on killing anyone who gets in his way. As the night races towards its heart-pounding conclusion, the question becomes not who will be prom queen, but who will survive the killer's rampage.

EHHH this WAS better than i thought it would be, but didn't do much for me. It had some tense moments and was better than the original but other than that it was kinda empty. I think part of the problem with these more recent horror films is the characters are all types, they seem like something from MTV's Laguna Beach, i swear when i saw this trailer i thought it was a laguna beach movie.

Hmmm... let me get this straight: on one hand you have a deranged killer hunting you... and on the other you have an evening of punch and pop music? I think the choice is obvious. The chance to do the "Supaman" dance to "Crank Dat" by Soulja Boy is well worth the risk. Wouldn't you say?
Wow...one minute added to the Unrated cut...and it'll all be sideboob.
Mehhhh...this was so bad, like really bad. My pal dragged me to see this, didn't think he liked it either
so its another movie from that new remake trend? you know where the only thing it has in common with the original is the title. its like april fools day and the upcoming bloody valentine.
I liked this movie. It was stupid and predictable but I still enjoyed it.
I really wanted to see this because Variety gave it a good review and that must count for something.

Note to self: NEVER listen to Variety again.
Every once in a while, a movie comes along that's just so bad, there's no words in the English language to describe it. THIS is one of those movies.

Any studio-released PG-13 horror movie remake revolving around any killer killing any amount of teenagers past the date of 1989 is not worth my time, I am proud to say I will never see this EVER.
On that note, everybody should check out The Signal coming out on DVD tomorrow, now THATS a movie!

For me watching horror movie is like a hobby, so I can't wait to see this movie, and i'd like to compare this one with the original version of the movie.
brutally bad. worst movie of '08 so far.
Pass
I can't even bring myself to yawn. I wish these things would just go away.
This was a stupid movie. In fact one of the worst movies of 2008. By the way the unrated is an R rated version.
i agree w/ horrorfan25. (IMO) this was one of THE worst movies i've EVER seen (and i saw it for free at a pre-screening.). it's an insult to anyone who loves the horror genre (IMO). adding 1 minute (i'm sure not of gore or suspense) isn't going to salvage this c**pfest.
Might catch this at the dollar theatre...
yahh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! b***h
Yet another example of a bad 80's movie made in to a worse movie for stupid teenagers who can't understand why it is cool to be original.
Stop it.
No blood....no nudity....no thanks.
P.S. That scar on Brittany Snow's head, made her look like Harry Potter.

Eh, I'll rent it, even though I know it will be lame. How sad that this was a hit and THE RUINS disappointed at the Box Office. People went to the wrong horror flick.

Ahhhhhhh.... THE RUINS didn't stay behind much.

What, no mention of Idris Elba from The Wire being in this film? Well, then again, if I were him, I probably wouldn't want my name attached to this garbage after the initial theatrical release either, LOL.....
I liked this version. I love the original of course but, this one wasn't as bad as everyone claimed it was. I will be buying the Blu-ray definately.
Hopefully the unrated version will be on the Blu-ray. Maybe even both versions.

I really can't stand these teenpop remakes!!!! I never seen it and I think I never will. Why can't we get the original with Curtis on Blu-Ray? I know i should not bash this film cuase I never seen it but it looks horrible. Nothing like the original.
Only one good thing came from this remake wich was finally a release of HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II on DVD.

I can't either! I think the conversations in the studios goes a little like this:
Exce #1: Let remake Prom Night!
Exce #2: Are you sure, it didn't do that good 20 years ago?
Exce #1: Yeah, but if we add in some low rider jeans, a token black guy or two and some cell phones, we can market it to a "hip" new audience.
Exce #2: I'll call Michael Bay.

That's funny how your line is Epic movie was the worst film made. And you went to see Meet the Spartans which is the same creators as Epic movie.
