Re-Animator (US - BD RA)
Image makes an official announcement on the first Blu-ray release of a classic...
Title: Re-Animator
Starring: Jeffery Combs
Released: 4th September 2012
SRP: $17.97
Further Details:
Image Entertainment is releasing Stuart Gordon's immortal classic horror comedy Re-Animator on Blu-ray disc this September the 4th. The disc will feature a 1080p transfer, framed at the original 1.85:1, and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. It appears that the cover art and extras more or less match Anchor Bay's last special edition DVD release (which also included extras from Elite's first and second DVD releases).
These will include:

Quote: Adapted by Dennis Paoli, William J. Norris and Stuart Gordon from the H.P. Lovecraft short story, Re-Animator tells the strange tale of medical student Dan Cain (Bruce Abbot) and his girlfriend Megan Halsey (Barbara Crampton), both of them drawn to odd new student Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) who’s conducting secret experiments involving the re-animation of dead tissue. When one of the instructors, Dr. Carl Hill (David Gale), stumbles upon their activities, West murders him -- but is brought back to life, now thirsting for revenge as well as lusting after Megan. The final denouement features the re-animated Dr. Hill squaring off against Herbert and Dan in a battle royale within the school’s morgue, complete with resurrected “henchmen” and undoubtedly one of the greatest visual double entendres in all horror cinema!

Lets hope the clean it up a bit.
A classic.
A classic.
You are so very wrong, sir. Re-Animator gets better every time I see it.
An unfortunate example of where the film doesn't live up to the poster image (or the hype). I thought it was good, but not nearly enough to necessitate the fervour people express. Perhaps what with it being released on Blu-Ray, this is a good time to revisit and reappraise.
I intend to buy this since it is cheap and I've put off getting the DVD for so long. I'll get some caps up when I do.
I'm in for a review copy, but I do not have the ability to get screen caps, so I'm a bit bummed about that.
Trying to stay optimistic about this...the fact that this isn't part of their s**tty Midnight Madness series and that they are porting over lots of extras gives me hope, but I still have this nagging sensation that Image is gonna screw us on the transfer.
