yeah this bombed
This seemed as it was going to offer some good extravaganza. It failed wisely on budget and critically. I still like the chosen cast.
I heard the cast were as usual decent but it wimps out on the politics. I wasn't surprised about that, it's not often Hollywood ever does anything brave.
I'm really looking forward to this movie. Looks promising and has tremendous stars!

well i guess ill just buy my copy then and leave everyone else to complaining about this really good film. =]
I liked the film. It was very good, although not great. The subject matter bent a lot of people out of shape, for some reason. Apparently making a movie about a man wrongly imprisoned and tortured is worse than doing it in reality. Strange.

Honestly? In your second post, about... whatever, you mentioned the film once, about how this movie is like all the other movies that doesn't show the Middle East for the barbaric nightmarish hell that you portray it to be. Second of all, she hasn't been charged with a crime yet, although if she were, and convicted, her punishment would be a hefty fine or a jail sentence of up to six months or 40 lashes. An official for the government said that in all likelihood, considering her intent, she wouldn't be charged or convicted at all.
While I will openly admit that this case is exceptional in terms of the lack of punishment, I would also stress that your appraisal of the case demonstrates your tendency to use hyperbole.
On a final note, that is close to the topic at hand, I would also recommend, Dave Brock, that if you feel so strongly about the bulls**t that Hollywood is slinging at you, then I want you to get investors, hire some talent, and make the film YOU want to make. The filmmakers of "Rendition" chose to make the film they wanted to make, albeit with some studio financing and studio intervention so they can't be faulted for speaking their minds.

Because those are the types of people we are fighting. THAT is the scale of fanaticism that that made things like 'rendition' come about in the first place.
I'm sick to death (when we are in the middle of a worldwide WAR against an enemy that has your own countrymen as troops who literally sits next to you on the train and blow you up) of all these 'look what those evil western powers are doing' cinematic dirges from people who supposedly care about rights and lives and freedoms.
And yet really care not one bit about such things.
If picking up some guy off a plane means a plot is foiled that allows my wife and daughter to walk down the street that day without being blown to bits...I could care less about the guy quite frankly.
Do people get it wrong? Yeah sure on all sides in all wars....but that does not mean they don't get it right and save a hell of a lot of lives as well.
