This season started out great, but last few episodes the show has become a little too sappy/philosophical. I can't exactly put my finger on it but I can't remember Rescue Me being this 'serious.'

This season has been outstanding so far. May end up being the best one yet, and certainly better than season 4.
Volume One though? C'mon.... And no more Blu-Ray?

I'm puzzled why Sony is breaking this season up into 2 parts. The season is running 22 straight weeks and by the time this set is released the entire season will be concluded. There is simply no reason to do this other than to milk fans of the show out of their hard earned money.
Yeah waaay better than season 4. They kept on saying they were having a blast writing this season and it's showing. FX even renewed it before a single episode aired based on their opinion of the new episodes alone.
I concur they shoulod have released season 5 as one set.
