The packaging is designed purely because this 15th Anniversary Edition lacks the great interviews on the 10th Anniversary edition (arguably that editions best extra feature and even more valuable after the sad passing of Chris Penn), not to mention the footage of tarantino playing mr white (priceless for a fan). The packaging is nice although over the top for 1 film (perhaps better suited for a Tarantino film collection box set?). The new "features" on the 15th AE are also a complete waste of time, and a previous feature that appeared as a funny little easter egg (reservoir dolls for exapmle), is now listed as a legitimit feature, which ironically cheapens it. The unsightly presence of Harry Knowles, lack of action figure doc, film noir doc, and plenty of other tidbits missing, as well as a Pulp factoid that makes the disc stick at times, that leaves 2 things. the packaging and the new transfer. The new transfer is more colourful, but Reservoir Dogs was intended to look gritty and grainy, so this is not the best way to represent it. The option to watch the film in fullscreen on the older discs was also a throwback to watching the video version and so was great for nostalgia. Those that say Tarantino had final say on this DVD should ask "why did he exclude his own interview segments?" The answer is because Lionsgate were in charge of this DVD release, not Tarantino. The Matchbook design is nice though and doesn't mention anything about a 15th anniversary, or the shoddy features (tipping guide?), so just get your hands on that and stick the 10th Anniversary discs inside it.
No Chris Penn tribute? Says it all about a lazy re-release that seemed to go out of its way to dissapoint. The only reason this edition exists is because of the release of the rubbish looking game, and for the packaging, which is ruined by listing all the rubbish features on the back of it.

major props to the packaging design. found out it was done by a couple of guys that call themselves headspace. far out.

How can you be a huge fan of a guy who has only made 4 films and not seen one of them!
Luckily you may well have saved the best for last...
Love the packaging but refuse to double dip for packaging alone.
Technically he's made five films.
Nah! Even the posters for Kill Bill : Vol 2 said 'the 4th film from Quentin Tarantino'.
Its just one film to me.

im buying it cuz o f the packaging, and however it will prob have better pic quality. I hope.
I only paid $9 for the 10th Anniversary, so I don't feel like I'm feeding the monster. I do *LOVE* this packaging. I don't mind the double dip. It shouldn't be something to get so offended by. If you're not interested, don't buy it, but leave us packaging junkies alone.
VERY COOL & I have already pre-ordered this to replace my stereo dvd version
yeah I'm gonna get this.
one question though. how does this differ from the 10th annivesary in terms of new features?

Not including "Sin City' or 'Four Rooms', or course.
God I hope the transfer's improved for this release. Please!

Hmm...Love the art but I bought the 10th anniversary edition twice, most reciently last month. I may get this I dunno.
I may double dip for this, but I'm not entirely convinced just yet. The cover art isn't the best, and the gas canister case can be really cheap looking.
The old transfer looked horrible, definitely a good enough reason to pick up the new one.I'm surprised more people weren't unhappy with it,the older non-anamorphic disc looked better.Granted the packaging is a good reason too.
I'll bite for the packaging. I'm sucha sucker for stuff like this. Plus I only paid like 7 bucks for the 10th anniversery dvd.
Not bad packaging but to me the plastic looks rather cheap...
Saw this a few months back or so and made me hold off the on the 10th anniversary one. Great packaging for one.

Hmm...forgot about that... maybe if the transfer is a new one I'll bite, but for now I'll take an educated guess and assume this'll have the same exact transfer that's on the 10th Anniversary disc.

I'm excited for the video game, already have it on pre order

Bleh....I love this movie to death but I'll keep the 10th anniversary edition (although that transfer is terrible).
Glad I've held off on getting the previous releases.
One of my favorite films and I don't have the previous release.
I'm definitely getting this one!

Anyone have more info on that?
I second that. Anyone.....?

Yeah, I'm under the impression the transfer is remastered and the transfer on the old DVD actually isn't all that great. So I would consider that, along with some of the new featurettes and the bad-ass packaging, to be a good enough reason to upgrade. On top of that, I mean, come on, this isn't going to go for more than like $17.99 or something in stores, so why not?
That's definitly #1 or #2 of coolest packaging ever......Saw's bloody package is also right up there.
I only paid $4.99 for the 10th Anniversary Edition... so I don't feel like I'd be wasting a bunch of money to double dip on this one - especially if the double dip encourages studios to be creative with their packaging. I mean honestly, compare this to the c**ppy Supergirl art... lazy design vs. creative design.
THE BEST POSSSIBLE NEWS I COULD WISH FOR!!
OIL-CAN PACKAGING + UNCLE BEN'S PANCAKE HOUSE INSERT = DEFINITE PURCHASE
I also already own the 10th Anniversary Edition, but that oil can packaging is just too pretty to ignore.

YOU FOOLS!!!! Lionsgate purchased Live Entertainment, the company that original distributed "Reservoir Dogs," but that doesn't mean anything to them if the DVD is already sitting on your shelves. So they are re-releasing the entire catalog of movies with new packaging in hopes you suckers will help them make money off the investment.

Um, WRONG. Did you see the package, dude?!
That's if you care about packaging at all, which a lot of people, myself included, don't.

Um, WRONG. Did you see the package, dude?! This may be the one double dip where I actually KEEP the original, too! (I don't like having two copies of the same movie - waste of precious space).
However, I do wanna know if there's anything MISSING from the 10th anniversary, that isn't on this edition.
Anyone have more info on that?

Of course its a marketing gimmick but f**k me is it the coolest package I've seen for a DVD. Holy s**t! I don't own RD so this will do nicely. I 'ear' the 20th edition will be the cops severed part packaging haha! nah kiddin, gern f**k off!
It should come with Marvin's ear, as well. Then and only then will it be a TRUE SE.
And what the hell ever happened to the "Director's Cut"? Sure, we got the deleted/alternate scenes in the 10th anniversary, but there was a time when Tarantino talked about a Director's Cut. I guess we'll just stick that in the BS vault along with "The Vega Brothers", "Kill Bill Vol.3" and the 100 or so other projects/releases he's talked about but has no realistic plans on delivering. "His brother" RR has cranked out twice as many films in the same amount of time, what is QT doing with his time, other than talking about what he wants to do, but never getting around to doing it?

That package design is frickin brilliant!
wow. there is no reason to get this if you have the 10th anniversary edition...
I'm buying, I have the ok UK SE and i've been considering the 10th so i'm buying the 15th and the artwork is badass
oooh i'm picking up this bad boy, i've seen the artwork and it's the bomb, very cool
Hopefully the transfer is better on this one than on the 10th Anniversary Edition.
Saw the Gasoline package and it's a must have LE
The 10th Anniversary set was pretty packed with featurettes, looks just like a marketing gimmack to me. I need to see the tech specs before I consider double dipping. Lionsgate is known for DTS-ES tracks, let's see.
Pass...two copies of this taking up precious shelf space is enough, and it doesn't sound like there's anything substantially different about this one to warrant a third time to the well.
Believe it or not I think this is the only Taratino film I haven't seen, so this is definitly a buy for me since I'm a huge fan of his work.
Great news.. One of my favorite movies of all time. I already own the 10th Anniversary edition of this movie but I'm willing to double dip for this one..
