The DVD artwork is descent better than the poster artwork.
went to the premiere to this.
When will they release details of the Region 2 release?
the Thai R0 is already out!
I missed this one is cinemas. Better rent this one.
I enjoyed this alot. The first one is a favorite of mine. Ali Larter was a welcome addition - she can do no wrong in my opinion. I'll wait to buy though - I have the first one but I'm sure there will be a "franchise collection" when and if they are ever done making the sequels.
Not bad and a bit better than the second one although the supporting characters seemed under-used.
nice cover work ill give this movie a rental and wow there still making umd movies i thought they decided to stop making them a while ago...

Where do the studios find these guys? I call Bulls**t.
How about you watch the movie first =)
A third sequel based off of a video game,No thanks.
Well then shut the f**k up and don't comment! If you hated the movie, that's fine, comment away, but when you haven't even seen it then don't talk about how c**ppy it is.
It was a pretty fun film. Cheesy in some parts, but a fun watch.

I haven't seen any of them, so can't comment on the movies, but the artwork is terrible.
Highres artwork added for the standard DVD
Even the zombies looked more alive then dead, bad makeup asured.
This *may* have been due to the fact that during the first and second movies anyone infected wouldn't have been dead that long. I thought they looked fine for the amount of time that was supposed to have passed between their death and eventually reanimation from the T-virus. Bad make up? Given the condition the zombies were in, not really.

Please, but please tell me your busting our balls. RE best videogame adaptation? It appears you did not get to see Silent Hill (2006)? Afraid not.
Was running with you until I read Silent Hill and you instantly lost all credibility; awful, awful movie that one is. The good news is that it appears no one is busting your balls, which in most cultures is a good thing--except for those parts of the world that substitute busting with stoning or flaying of the balls.
For starters, Silent Hill has a great potential on its video game level, something RE did not pull off. Another statement was the great camara work and astonishing sets and makeup effects used for the film, something RE never would dream of having. Is not just also about the sypnosis or script-wise of the film but also for the great amount of style and artsy elements they put into it, and Silent Hill perfectly captures that. In that case there was never nothing artsy or sleek in the first Resident Evil movie. Even the zombies looked more alive then dead, bad makeup asured.

Resident Evil IS the best video game adaptation ever much better than Silent Hill which was VERY mediocre. However Res Evil 2 sucks and Res Evil 3 sucks even more.....i thought this would the best action/horror trilogy ever but i didnt like part 2 and found part 3 to be boring. And I use to be the number 1 defender of these films...part 2 and 3 just lacked any sense or story.
I loved this film, my favoutrite of the trilogy, shall defo be getting it! I hope the Region 2 artwork is different tho, this isnt doing aything for me...
Big fan of all the movies! Liked this one better than Apocolypse but not as much as the first one.
I am excited that they are as the advertisement says releasing it on PSP since i Have the first two I'll pick it up!

German HD DVD for me, thanks.
I shocked at the amount of positive comments on here, no wonder they keep making them!
These are my guilty pleasures. Even though I was a hardcore RE videogame back in the day and these in terms of storytelling will never live up to that I still love watching these films.
RE1 was a solid film and probably the best videogame adaptation.
RE2 was fun fun and had many more direct references to the game.
RE3 was fun and different, I need to see it again.

Seen this in theaters and my friend and I were wondering how could it all come to this when none of the movies made sense... it had so little to deliver and the franchise had so much more promises that, translated to film, would have shocked today's audiences would be as much as 1968's Night of the Living Dead... just my thought, though...

A third sequel based off of a video game,No thanks.
Actually, this is the SECOND sequel (RE is the beginning, Apocalypse is the first sequel, Extinction the second sequel). Sorry, had to point that out. I do agree with you about the lame boastful comments from the critics, though. Shawn Edwards is Pete Hammond-lite and just as un-credible.
The first is a great film. It's unique to any zombie film I have ever seen whilst Apocalypse was too clichéed and reminiscent to anything that is a mass-hysteria zombie film and was, for the most part, unoriginal and horribly mediocre. I would like to see Extinction, but I doubt it's as good as the first.
That CGI RE film sounds intriguing, though. Too bad they couldn't do CGI films based off my other favorite game series (Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, etc) Those would ROCK!

The best in the series, but that's not saying a hell of a lot. Very mediocre overall...but still a solid time-waster!
I loved this sequel. Much better than the second film.
Horrific, dumb, idiotic, pretentious, insipid... But at leas the zombies were not just glorified cameos like in the last two films. (Though, I still say the first is the best and at least kept faithful to the spirit of the games.)
Was an ok film. I will pick it up.
this was entertaining. i hope they make a part 4. i want to see what alice does next after that discovery she made at the end.

As a gamer, Resident Evil is one of the best that ever been produce. In the last 25 years, lots of classic games have been created and played by millions of people. Pac-Man, Mari Bros, Halo, World of Warcraft are just a few titles that I can name. Doesn't matter if you play on a PC, XBox or Playstation, Resident Evil is a great experience that every gamer should experience.

WATCH IT! The 3rd one was great. Just as good as Number 1. I still dislike 2, and everytime I watch it again I dislike it more and more. 2 was just plain AWFUL, thankfully 3 redeemed itself.

This was the best out of the three movies. The look and feel of the zombies, were definitely improved in this one.
I got so bored of this that I actually walked out of it. Major letdown.
To buy or to wait for the Trilogy box set that will eventually be released? This was a pretty cool movie. But I'm biased because Milla is a goddess and I just can't get enough of Zombie movies and this one had mutant Zombies. I genuinely hope that Sony continues this franchise. The way it left off was enough to make me want more and hopefully that will happen with Milla. Tough call on this one but I have to be faithful and pick this up since I'm a sucker for deleted scenes and Milla.
i'll get the blu-ray box set as i don't even have apocalypse on blu-ray.
Yes this movie was unbearable, however it has a lot of cool scenes. My favorite being the beginning. As of this moment none of the three feature films for Resident Evil have delievered the brilliance it should deliver, among side the video games in which do not compare at all. The original film from 2002 is still the better one of the trilogy and that is saying a lot about it.
p.s The cover is 'blah'

I thought it was fun. Stupid as hell, but I expected it. As far as the science thing goes though...

I love how Sony keeps saying that these s**t films have more "first-purchase choice" that Rush Hour 3 and The Kingdom. RH3 was c**p, and no one saw The Kingdom in theaters, so how would they even know if they liked it? This sales tactic is very stupid if you ask me.
Oh, and by the way - Second worst film of the year, this was (first was Premonition)

Kinda irks me that I was able to see the first two in theaters and didn't get the chance to see this one yet. This looked a lot better than Apocalypse, but I don't think it could be better than the first. With that said, I may just blind buy this on release day so I have the whole trilogy.
EXTINCTION WAS AWESOME!!
probably the best in the series

I agree with your assessment of the 2nd. I hated it the first time I watched it. I watched it a second time and changed my mind. It was ok. I also quite liked the first. I'll prob wait until the 3rd goes Pre-viewed for $9.99 at Blockbuster and watch it then.

I'll definitely be getting this when it comes out.
Better than the second one, but still 'zombie-lite'.
if you liked the original and thought the sequel was ok then you might enjoy this.
