Sony has now provided us with artwork for the brand new "Resurrected Edition"

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a Resident Evil double feature collector's set which includes both Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Extras will include a Bridge scene narrated by Milla Jovovich in character and featuring film clips from all Resident Evil films that tie the first two films to the third, a Diary of an Apocalypse behind the scenes featurette, a Diary of an Apocalypse behind the scenes featurette, a Zombie Dog P.O.V Test, a Stuntman set tour, an Undead Boot Camp feature, a Memory Retention Division feature, and an Evil Archives photo gallery. Finishing off the set will be an exclusive sneak peek of Resident Evil: Extinction, and a ticket to see the film when it arrives in theaters. You'll be able to own this one from the 4th September for around $19.94. The artwork is attached:

Both the first and the second movie are amazing,i mean com on guys, how can any of you hate the 2nd one, you only have to play RE4 and see how close they are (action wise of course) and from what we are seing from the trailer of Extinction it will be pure adrenaline rush, can't wait to see it.
And this DVD package isn't worth buying especially that we will be treated for a special trilogy box after the third (and NOT final) one.
Does anybody know anything about the extended edition of Apocalypse that imdb is talking about??

These films are horrible and I sort of liked the first one when I saw it but watched it once after that and found it to be seriously inept film making. The second was one of the worst films I have ever seen.

I have the German 2 disc set with DtsES for the first and the Korean 2 discer for the 2nd. The pic quality on the R1 for Apocalypse wasn't great.

I love the look of that artwork although I already have the region 1 SuperBit of Resident Evil and the full bit rate DTS Hong Kong region 3 of Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

I liked the first RE movie but RE2 really took it to the next level. I hope Extinction continues to improve war at the very least matches Apocalypse.

i'd love more RE movies preferably with Milla but I'd watch another without her...RE might make a decent TV series like Blade with the right writers.

I can't wait for the third neither. I loved those movies and from what i saw in the trailers so far, the third one rocks.
Even though extonction is rumered to be the last one in the trilogy, Sony is rumered to be interested in continuing the franchise, so the 3rd one may be the last for Alice and they will start a new begening with more known characters from the game. I wish that they wont stop with this one because i think they are still at the begening of a successful saga.
However this DVD is a little bit of a let down, they should have made it at least a 3 dvd package if not 4, but what the hell, i'm willing to buy it just for the narrated bridge between the 2nd and 3rd movie and i hope they tell us what happened to Jill because they didn't bring her back for the 3rd one.

Why would fans want the same DVDs as before? At least this is offering new bonus material, and new scenes (a bit like Daredevil EE).

And if this film makes as much as the last one ($120 mill. worldwide) then expect more. Maybe by a different cast and crew, but more.

Actually, this is probably the big September release, so it could well sell bucket-loads.

Fans might be interested in this: Capcom are using the movie series' Red Queen character in the upcoming Nintendo game, Umbrella Chronicles.

It's a bit weird for the originals using an adaptation's character (bit like how Chloe from Smallville is now officially in DC Comic continuity).

It's Milla. It's biochemical Zombies. It's in my collection. Plus there's movie ticket inside. Triple dip time for the 1st movie but that's okay. There's a few more extras that will get me to Best Buy upon it's release. Then next spring or summer when they package up the trilogy and toss in a bonus disc with ALL the extras I be back ponying up the dough for more Milla, biochemical Zombies and hopefully even more bloodletting. Toss in a few deleted scenes and I'm a happy camper.

It's not so much that the artwork is bad as it's just, "blah." I mean, it'd be cool if this was JUST action movies, but, they're action/horror, so, I'd like to have seen something eerie on the cover.

I hope Alice dies in this movie. I think it would the coolest if, for the ending, Wesker killed her. Then "You Are Dead" would splash in blood letters on the screen while Wesker does his Code Veronica laugh....

C'mon guys. Don't buy this. You know that when Extinction comes to dvd, they'll probably have a trilogy set w/ all three movies and the same special features. First there was the original RE on dvd, then there was the RE:Deluxe Edition b/c Apocalypse was coming out, then there was the 2-disc of Apocalypse along w/ a two pack w/ both it and the first also available, now there's this one w/ both and different special features about to be release. I admit, I replaced the original w/ the deluxe, but, that's it. I doubt I'll be picking this up unless the artwork and the price just really draws me in.

This would be the perfect time to release the fantastic first film on Blu Ray, but disappointingly they are not.

However, even though Extinction is being called the final film in the trilogy, there's word that the story of Alice ends in the third film (it's "her" trilogy) and Leon (introduced at some point in Extinction) and Claire will continue on in another trilogy that's already being planned. Can't wait!

Now Sony... get off your butts and get on that Blu Ray of the first RE!

The second movie slapped some ass, it's pure guilty entertainment, I loved it,(except for the slo-mo zombies as mentioned elsewhere), and hope Extinction ups the action stakes even more.

I loved LOVED LOVED Apocalypse. It was pure awesome bottled, bagged, tied with a bow and just waiting to be drunk.

Hopefully I can get a screener of this, so I don't have to triple-dip. That said, I'll buy this anyway for the "bridge" scene and the free ticket.

I will probably then see Extinction six times in the same day, as I did with Apocalypse.*

*I will watch anything with Milla a thousand times.

These films suck and I am a huge fan of the games. These movies are nothing more than rocknroll action horror flicks that do no justice to the horror and atmosphere the games have. Paul W.S. Anderson is one of the worst filmmakers behind Uwe Boll. He keeps trying the video game genre and just fails miserably.

Damn and here I own the first two (I kind of liked the second one but I couldnt stand the slow-mo-peter-jacksonsy shots they did for the zombies) and yet I still can't wait to see what the art looks like. I am going to hold off on this though....it will be hard but I'm doing it, you cant beat the plastic slide off sleeve Apocalpse had.

I really enjoyed the first, but haven't seen the 2nd. Not sure if I can be bothered with parts 2 or 3 to be honest, as I haven't heard anything good about them and I can't honestly see them doing anything different or better than what was in the first.
