Further Details:
Warner Home Video has sent over details on the first in their upcoming line of direct-to-DVD horror films, Rest Stop, which will be available just in time for Halloween on the 17th of October. Retail price should be around $24.98 for the disc. Written and directed by John Shiban, executive producer and writer of 'Supernatural' and 'The X-Files,' Rest Stop tells the story of Nicole (Jaimie Alexander) and Jess (Joey Mendicino), who begin a cross-country road trip together from Texas to Hollywood. Their careless, open road adventure comes to a screeching halt as the journey takes a deadly turn at an out-of-the way rest stop. What follows is a dangerous, psychological, cat-and-mouse game where Nicole must fight for survival against a seemingly inhuman stalker. It’s a game to the death, and only one will survive. The film will come in separate R-rated and unrated versions, with extras on the R-rated version including two alternate endings and the Rest Stop Trailer, The unrated disc will add to that by including two exclusive featurettes—‘Scotty’s Home Movies' and 'On the Bus'. It might also be of interest to some of you that purchasing the DVD will entitle you to $10 off a little collection Warner is calling The Exorcist: The Complete Anthology, which I'm sure we'll have further details on sooner rather than later.

Rest Stop is the first in a series of direct-to-DVD releases that Warner has dubbed "Raw Feed". The franchise, produced by Shiban, Tony Krantz (executive producer of '24') and Daniel Myrick (The Blair Witch Project) combines three distinct genres: sci-fi, horror and thriller. Each direct-to-DVD film in the series will boast extensive and innovative extra features and will debut cutting-edge music and talent. Initially two additional films will be released in the "Raw Feed" series, with Sublime (working title) directed by Krantz expected to release in early 2007, and The Believers (working title) beginning production this summer. We've attached our first look at the artwork for both the R-rated and unrated versions below.
