Quote: Taped live before a sold-out audience at the WaMu Theater at New York Citys Madison Square Garden, Ricky Gervais: Out of England The Stand-Up Special is a high-spirited hour of offbeat observations and understated humor from the actor/comedian/writer/director. The show includes Gervais unique takes on such disparate (and often politically incorrect)issues as fund-raising, autism, fame, nursery rhymes, Nazis, moronic friends, obesity … and his penis size.

Because he is. Comedy's like that.

I saw this live in LA, and although there was some new material for those who haven't seen Fame, the funniest stuff comes straight from Politics and Animals.
I will never understand how people can find this man funny.
He may be smug (although a lot of it is an act) but at least he's funny, which is something that can't be said of a lot of comedians.
Ricky's the man - but if I've heard all the jokes before I won't bother.
Watched this on HBO. Pretty dang funny. The sex card was the best.

Love Ricky Gervais, he's hilarious! The more smug and full of himself the better.
Ricky Gervais is too full of himself, Jimmy Carr the BEST!

I was going to ask what the content of this was but thanks bsstd, that answers it. I did imagine that it would be a mix of Animals, Politics and Fame but from what you've indicated, a large part is from Fame.
Meh!!!!!!
If you've seen the Ricky Gervais Live 3: Fame DVD, you've seen this one. There's a few tiny tweaks for an American audience but otherwise it's almost joke for joke the same special.
